If you don't ask for it, you won't get it. I have no problem quoting big a number that is easily twice or three times the competition. Just make sure you can back up the value of the product against the cost along with educating the customer about why you deserve more.
I just finished a $28k...
Customer just supplied me with his logo. This was my reply. I don't tend to sugar coat crap anymore.
Your logo is horrible Chris. Just thought I’d give you my opinion. Was it created in the 90’s?
His reply:
Thanks Bob for making me feel better about myself, can I see the second Free Press...
I already have a lot invested in Corel X6, Onyx rip for the flatbed, ColorRip for the Roland, Aspire and ProfileLab for the Multicam, and CoCut to run the AnaGraph. Is there a valid reason I would benefit from SignLab print & cut?
I will check into both Dak and Watch. It's for an Elks Lodge so I haven't found out what their budget is yet. But I want to give them a couple of options.
I'd like to see if they can build with it going through both sides of the monument wall which is about 6" on the face.

Thanks everyone. I decided to go all out and make this one fun. The client has been very patient and willing to wait for my busy schedule. I can't wait to see the look on her face once it goes up.
In the middle of this one. Next step before paint is to hand carve/sculpt the parrot and then the color gets added. This is one of the more dimensional signs I've made with a total thickness close to 10" deep. I'm taking step by step photos on this one and will add the rest later on. Luckily for...
Starting painting signs in 1974 out of my 900 sf basement and stayed there for 18 years. Commercial space in the Hamptons was not a possibility at the current real estate prices back then or even today. Moved to Florida in 1992 and bought a 3k sf industrial building where I stayed for 15 years...
I should also add...This design approach would appeal more to the women who do the majority of shopping during the holidays so this is designed from a psychological and subliminal perspective. Guys will wait until the last second to go shopping. Plus.... a woman see the word sale and that's the...
Given free reign, this would have been my approach. Same message, just a little bit tighter and I'm a huge proponent for the female species. Who says Santa is really a dude????
I stayed out of this thread because I could see you weren't willing to budge very much from your original design and nothing I could add would have improved it at all. My first impression was start over. Design cannot be forced to work if it has flaws in it. Being personally attached to a design...
