  1. mac tac 6398 metallic enhancers

We've used a bit of the silver metallic recently. I can't speak to long-term durability, but we've printed a few wraps for other shops and also did a couple for our own customers. Looks amazing, makes anything metallic (obviously). It is a bit thicker at 3 mil so it doesn't stretch or conform...
  2. Shop table surfaces

This. We've used Speedpress's tops for 15+ years, not the cheapest thing around but they last forever and are great. We have 6 6'x10' tables all with their self healing mats and I can't imagine anything else. We've tried glass or hard-surface tops and hated them... Knife tips break or dull out...
  3. banner stand rentals what to do? how to do it?

I don't think I'd get into this if it were me, but it depends on what the stand is. If it's just a regular run of the mill retractable, I would think the labor to regularly change the graphic and deal with the rental process would not be worth it. What exactly are you looking at renting out?
  4. ONYX 11 - Sometime in October

I just hope they overhaul the living daylights out of Layout Tool. I love Onyx and all, but Layout Tool leaves a lot to be desired.
  5. Epson s70670 for very high-end Wallcoverings? (metallic or non metallic)

Korographics has some amazing textures available yes. But, you flat out can NOT laminate this stuff with a film laminate because of the texture, it's not going to happen. There is physical way the laminate will conform or settle into this texture, which is why extremely durable ink is so...
  6. Epson s70670 for very high-end Wallcoverings? (metallic or non metallic)

Ok, then you definitely do not want a solvent printer. We print a LOT of Korographics media, we used to run it on either our Mimaki JV33 or our Epson GS6000, neither of which are really truly up to the task. Wallpaper media forst and foremost does not like much heat, it will distort and...
  7. Epson s70670 for very high-end Wallcoverings? (metallic or non metallic)

Lets go back to the beginning... You said you're printing "wallpaper". Can you give us a much more detailed description of what you mean, what medias you're wanton to print on and what the final product will be?
  8. Epson s70670 for very high-end Wallcoverings? (metallic or non metallic)

This. And uv will give you by far the most durable product as well.
  9. Shovelhead

So sad. I never met Al in person but we did some business together and communicated via Facebook and on the phone from time to time and he always struck me as a genuinely good person. I always said if I was ever in his neck of the woods I wanted to spend some time with him, I felt there was...
  10. Insignia Signs

Getting there, couldn't be acting up at a worse time for sure, we're deep in our busy season so it's creating a challenge. Again, apologies for the dropped communication, we will get you taken care of thought! And thanks Paul!!
  11. Insignia Signs

Hey Tyler, my apologies, I've been spread thin dealing with a broken down machine and a couple huge projects. I responded to your email a while back but didn't hear back and have not been able to follow up again, which is my fault. If you would please email me again and copy...
  12. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

    See my last post.
  13. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

Will report back soon, out of respect for Dave we can't go into detail right now but we do have an offer on the table from CET that we are currently reviewing. I can't speak for Aaron though, this is just us.
  14. iMac or Mac Pro?

Unless you're doing a lot of intense video editing, I think the Pro is extreme overkill for this industry. I've got a current generation iMac 27" and it plows through everything I throw at it, including some really really big wrap files. I sprung for the loaded version with the 3.4GHz i7...
  15. Did I get a bad roll of media? Orajet 3751 RA

We've had identical results lately with 3751ra. In fact we've sent several rolls back because of it. We tried both our GS6000 and our JV33 with no luck. I tried making a profile unsuccessfully, using Oracal's profiles (which are usually pretty good), and using both canned and our own profiles...
  16. Just got my jv33

Assemble, flush heads with cleaning cartridges, do a few ink full ups and start printing. Seriously, that's it, JV33s take less than an hour to get set up. You should have gotten a basic setup manual with it that details the steps involved, but it's super quick and easy, no need to wait for a...
  17. Calendared Murals not lining up

What material? I suspect is due to the heat. We don't run latex machines, but it seems like whenever we print wall murals on one of our solvent machines, either on Phototex, Korographics, etc., we'll get a panel that's shorter or longer somewhere in the mix. We've switched to running all wall...
  18. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

    Well said Aaron.
  19. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

Yeah, mine were too. That's not the fix, but it's "nice" to know. For 16 months we had been turning the high lamps on first, then the low, which had to have been putting a huge strain on the UV system. Ryan re-labeled ours so they're correct, but the problem persisted. My gut says the problem is...
  20. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

Dave, Thank you for the reply, and I'm looking forward to meeting you next week. Let me preface this by saying you are correct that CET has definitely stood behind the machine and has gone above and beyond to keep it running, and that has not gone unnoticed. That said, As Colorado pointed...
