  1. 1/2 Inch Foam Core Print 40" x 156"

If it were me I'd use Gatorfoam instead of Foamcore, if this is a permanent installation I would think Foamcore is bound to warp over time. And I would do two layers of .25" Gatorfoam bonded together with a lap joint instead of a butt joint at the seam, that would give you a much more rigid...
  2. matte lam on matte vinyl?

Yes, absolutely, laminate it if you and/or your customer are expecting any sort of outdoor durability. You don't need to print on matte vinyl either, if you have gloss in stock, that's fine, the final finish is dictated by the laminate, not the underlying print vinyl.
  3. Need Software (Order, time-tracking, estimating, etc.) - Cloud based

Would SignVox work? Seems like it would do most of what you're asking, if not all. We're a very satisfied user.
  4. HELP! Onyx RIP queue says my printer is offline

Is the circle next to to the printer in the top-right corner of the RIP-Queue screen red? If so, click it and it should go back online. If it doesn't, there's a communication error between the RIP and the computer.
  5. took the plunge and upgraded to cs6.

It's not overwhelmingly different than recent past releases. You'll get used to it, give it time. And FYI you can change how dark or light the interface is in the control panel. At first I hated what it defaulted to because i was so used to the lighter look, but I gave it a shot and now you...
  6. CET white ink questions.

What is the heat set to on your white head?
  7. Looking to buy a flat bed

Very happy with our CET here. Buy based on what you project your future needs will be, or buy a machine you can grow into. Don't buy based on current demand or you will find yourself with an expensive paperweight that can't keep up with demand.
  8. Signvox pocketvox

I'm kind of with you on that, sort of, maybe? As far as pricing, maybe set up a tiered pricing structure, like $79/mo gets the basic program, $99/mo gets the basics plus 2 add-ons, $139/mo gets everything? Dunno. I see where Adam is going with that, in a couple years you could have 5-10...
  9. Signvox pocketvox

We looked at pocketvox when we set everything else up but didn't opt for it. For a traveling salesperson I think it would be great because it provides easy access to info on specific customers, job statuses and leads. It's not for actually managing workflow, inputting orders, etc., it's just for...
  10. Just stop already!!!

Agreed... The phone has its place but in the current business world it's far from an efficient or effective means of communication. I'll take email, fb, website, twitter communications over the phone any day. And if your in business and hate social media, IMO you need to reevaluate your...
  11. 10 Trucks (30 decals)

Personally I'd print/cut as one piece and be done with it, makes installation much much easier than trying to register 3 separate pieces. Time is money.
  12. Shop Minimums??? Do you have one??

Ours is $45 for wholesale work, $125 for retail. When you really stop and add up how much time is involved in even the simplest order a minimum charge is of critical importance.
  13. Need a vendor....

Gary, I order stuff like that from Gemini a lot, they laser-cut them too so the edges are perfectly polished. Not always the fastest or cheapest option but they always look like a million bucks.
  14. Wall mural

If you want something self-adhesive I would only use Phototex for that, you're going to have issues with any vinyl product.
  15. Vutek flatbed wrinkling on long runs

Could you post a picture of this setup and how the media is webbed through it? We have the same problem on our CET and I'm wondering if this would be an option for us as well.
  16. JV33 uneven colors

    I don't think 540x1080 can go to 8-pass, I'm pretty sure it's 6, 12 or 24.
  17. JV33 uneven colors

That looks like a combination of media, resolution and heat. Your pre and print heaters are extremely low, which can cause unpredictable color. The resolution you have listed as 720x1080, I'm assuming that's a typo, I don't think that's an option on the JV33, but I could be wrong. Either way...
  18. Digital Dryer - BBC or similar - anyone use it?

We have one, its great, worth every penny. Some materials don't jive to well with it though. We use Bantex 13oz non curl in our retractable banners and it tends to warp and distort with the dryer running on it so we avoid using it on it. Same with some canvas and wallpaper materials. But it's...
  19. Brick Wall Mural

I would use IJ8624 if only because it's been out much longer and is proven in the field.
  20. UV lamp life

We're seeing about 600 hours on our CET lamps, near as I can tell. I just replaced them last week in the middle of a big run, there was no noticeable color difference after new lamps. I didn't realize or notice how much cure banding was present with the old lamps though, so replacing them...
