  1. 3651 (not RA) wet apply?

Ha! You and me both! You don't think i keep all that air release vinyl in stock for you do you? You just get my leftovers!!
  2. 3651 (not RA) wet apply?

Yes, 3651 lays just great wet!
  3. Graduating to Laminator - Need advice - 54"

I second this. Except we replaced ours with a Seal a couple years ago and I regret the decision. Once you get the RS dialed in it's a great laminator for sure, I highly recommend it.
  4. Packaging your decal orders

Ha! We just got a new shrink wrapper this week and my office girls decided to shrink wrap literally EVERYTHING on my new salesman's desk... His monitor, phone, lamp, every pen individually, papers, notebooks, coffee cup (with coffee still in it), his chair, business cards, everything. I should...
  5. Wall Mural Print Set Up

whatever width panel you want, I'd go about 52", but on this stuff I recommend at least a 1" overlap, maybe 1.5" You can double-cut it and strip the seam after it's applied, but your installed will have you if you only give him a 1/2" overlap to work with. I usually use a 1.5" overlap on this...
  6. Brick Wall Mural

We've had the best luck by far with 3M's textured surface vinyl. It's only rated for 6 months outdoors, everything we've done has lasted longer than that though. MacTac I believe is rated for 18 months and we were seeing failures within 3-6 months so I wasn't too impressed with it. When bidding...
  7. Shop Truck Wrap

If the logo is set in stone then I would definitely reconsider your current placement. Like I said above, it's going to look really strange on the opposite side. I would strongly consider placing it between the wheel wells on the doors and then start working in the secondary copy from there.
  8. Shop Truck Wrap

I don't personally dislike the background. It's not my style, but it's contemporary and trendy right now so it's not bad. Very busy but for that grunge style it works. I agree with everybody else that the typography on "Premier" needs help. The actual logo. I see what you're going for with it...
  9. photo-tex

Do you know what batches the first stuff came from that wasn't as strong as it was supposed to be? I installed our mural over the weekend here using the new EX product and while it stuck to itself like super glue, it didn't grab the wall as well as I had hoped. Granted, I applied it right...
  10. Recommend a plotter to me.

+2, until you step up to a $150k+ Zund, Summa is the best there is.
  11. Employees, need advice on taking the next big step with my business...

I'm starting a new business... I don't have a name for it yet, but I will be offering consultation services for the low low price of a jar of pickles. And seriously, call any time. If I can't talk during the day I'll try to call you back in the evening. I'm stuck helping in production right...
  12. Now this is very cool

We've got a few of those around here, they're great for the money and light enough you can easily throw them in the back of the truck. I drive a crew-cab Silverado and if I fold the back seat up I can slide this right in behind the front seats perfectly, tools and all. It's just the right size...
  13. Employees, need advice on taking the next big step with my business...

Long time no see Doug!! The E-Myth Revisited is a great book, perfect for Sean's situation. When I read it the first time I had sort of an "oh my god this is so obvious it's dumb" moment, but it brings to light a lot of things that are blatantly staring you in the face but you're unable to...
  14. Employees, need advice on taking the next big step with my business...

I agree with Gino 100%, his answers are pretty spot on. Hire someone before it's too late. Believe it or not, you're going to kill your business faster by not getting the help you need than you could doing anything else. You've been at the point you've needed to hire for a while I know, it...
  15. photo-tex

FYI I've got a roll of the higher-tack stuff here, we're getting ready to redo a wall in our shop, I figured I'd try this out to see how it goes. I haven't installed it yet, but just from playing with it it doesn't feel significantly tackier than the original. I did throw up a 2'x3' piece of it...
  16. 18oz banner for L25500

We don't have HP latex printers, so take this with a grain of salt, but you might look at the Bantex Herculite 18oz. We've experimented with just about every 18oz+ weight material we could find and the Bantex seemed to be the best by far. It's not a "super-smooth" material, in fact it's got...
  17. photo-tex

I've had Phototex pull paint off the wall if it was a crappy paint job or wasn't fully cured, but as long as the wall/paint is in good shape it shouldn't, we've removed a lot of Phototex and the only time it damaged the wall was when the wall was in poor condition to start with.
  18. contour cutting window perf

We contour cut a lot of perf on our Summa S160 plotter with no problems at all. It has their OPOS-X registration sensor which has always worked flawlessly for us. I would imagine their OPOS-CAM sensor would read marks even better on perf, but to my knowledge ours has never had a hard time...
