  1. Onyx Cut Server and Graphtec FC7000-160

Are you running the latest firmware? When I talked to graphtec first thing they always have me do before even troubleshooting is upgrade the firmware. It is easy and has fixed our issues before. Production House 6? If the version is like postershop you are a whole version behind, I would do is...
  2. Mimaki JV3-75SPII is it worth to buy?

There are a lot of 54" (130) machines floating around I would pay the 1-2k more for one instead. You will be much better off, same machine just wider.
  3. The Ultimate Guide to Fixing Banding!

    :banghead:
  4. Nozzle Wash Help!

As far as the capping station holding fluid this is a sign of the pump going bad. Not sure if you've changed one before, but mimaki considered them consumable parts. There are two pumps, 2 lines goto each. You may need two if the lines go into different pumps. Ink build up, make sure you...
  5. Anybody selling JV3 print heads?

Here is what is insane, you can buy a used mimaki 30" or 54" for almost the cost of the 4 heads now.
  6. The Ultimate Guide to Fixing Banding!

Blaming banding on the rip doesn't make sense. The software culprit most often is the profile, yeah that's in the rip, but that's not the problem. Just like printing RGB to correct banding, that is a profile issue. For whatever reason you're dumping to much ink on the media causing banding...
  7. Help! Dark colours bleeding on our Mimaki JV3-160

Let us know if you changed inks or not? Sounds like you did. Whenever I have seen this issue it is temperature related, increase the heat on your machine a few degrees and see if the problem gets any better. Like others have suggested if you're using the wrong profile it can also be...
  8. Head cleaning help...?

It is called deflection, I believe physically what is happening the ink is building up on the nozzle and causing the dots to fire at an angle. You'll have to clear it up with soaks if you can. We bought an ultra sonic jewelry cleaner to use on print heads and chickened out on using it. I have...
  9. Anyone replace their own print heads?

I think a lot of people do it, including myself. It really isn't hard once you do one or two. You should try to get ahold of the service manual, it has pictures and step by step how to do it.
  10. questions about head alignment mimaki jv3

The head slant is needed if you don't get the head back in the exact same spot the old one was. I've put in several and it was needed, but you have to have a loupe or magnification device to see it. Y base lays each color over top of a black line (in relation to the black print head), the...
  11. Opinions on Rastek H650

We're looking at Hyrbrid UV printers and have come across the EFI Rastek H650. I'm wonder if anyone has one and if so please tell me what you think about it.
  12. JV3 Print Heads

sounds like your guides are bent to far up, the metal is pretty flexible I have had to unscrew them and bend them down some before.
  13. printable magnetic material

About 3 years ago when we got our JV3 we tried it one time. It didn't take long to see that is just wasn't worth the effort. At least with banner or vinyl the material will give with a head strike a little, you pretty much are toast of the head slams into the magnet. I'm pretty confident we...
  14. Printing Double Sided on the JV5

    Case, that worked perfect Thanks!
  15. Printing Double Sided on the JV5

We are really fighting our JV5 trying to print double sided. This was never an issue on the JV3. When you goto print the 2nd side the printer will not start in the same spot every time. This makes it impossible to align the 2nd side. Is there a setting to force the printer to start at the...
  16. Banding Problems

So did you do the above adjustments or did someone else?
  17. over spray on test draw

I would try to swap cables and let the yellow channel drive a different head and see if the problem stays on that head or moves to the other one, or it even may go away if it is a voltage issue, if that is the case I wouldn't run it very long on a good head. That should narrow down the issue.
  18. JV3 250SP - Time for major maintenance!

Did you enter the head IDs again when you installed the new board??? My knowledge of this next part is limited but it has been a long time ago since I did it, but when we did a flash to 3.1 for our megaink bulk system we used the tools on this page to dump our .prm file out of the printer, the...
  19. bad test print

I have run into cracked dampers before. They also have a small filter in them that can clog. You should be able to look and see if it actually has ink in it like the one next to it. I would also suspect a pump going out. I had one just 2 weeks ago only firing half a head turning out one pump...
  20. Banding Problems

I did you install the heads? You mentioned in another thread about having the service manual. You need to get it out and do the head slant, it has to be perfect. You will need a magnification device to do it (loupe). The Y BASE and X followed by the various configs in maintenance mode are...
