Last year when we were looking at new machines we demoed the T1000. Very unimpressed by it and the demo we got. They were happy to print on foam core for us but when we asked for a corrugated sample the engineer (yes he was an EFI engineer) said they weren't setup for that at the show. They...
This is really surprising. Gerber had a solid upper hand over a lot of other machines with their ink. Speculating, it seems the service record of these machines probably cost Gerber a lot of money. This will be pretty damaging to Gerbers image though in the long run...
I really don't know anything about the Omega 1 so that will be a hard comparison to make. I can tell you though we are really happy with our FB500. We replaced our Agfa M4F with the HP and haven't looked back. The ink on the HP is much more flexible than the Agfa ink and does cut better on a...
We had an m for about a year. You can read some of my old post as to the opinion on it. After a year of ownership in my opinion we had a lot of issues, our machine was a v1 though, but on the flip side agfa service is awesome no question. Quality is good, but the machine is not fast. The...
Liquid coater is the way to go, I know that isn't really an option for you but we've found that regular laminate doesn't stick very well at all to uv prints.
We've done it in a pinch. Some of the benefits you get are the same obviously like scratch resistance. I wonder what kind of UV protection you get though? I wouldn't think thinkness would be an issue either as 290 can be had in 1 mil and still last a long time.
If it does a good test draw and doesn't make any funny noises I wouldn't be afraid to buy it. Always helps to actually see them print. Parts for these are getting really expensive from Mimaki which stinks because these are still very capable printers.
Onyx has free email support now through their site. Although it hasn't been very helpful at all to us, it is there, maybe you'll have better luck. If this program wasn't full of bugs and worked like it is supposed to it would be a nice piece of software.
A properly working machine will be able to pull ink out of the cartridge and fill the lines in 4 ink fill ups. I know this from experience, we've run ours out of ink before. If you are changing a head for example you can use a syringe to prime the lines by removing the damper. If you have an...
Just to repeat some of what has already been said:
When we do DS banners 24 hour dry time is mandatory. Use proper heat settings or you won't get a proper bond. We also use a 15oz super smooth material, this is critical for us as we have never had good luck with glossy DS.
Yes, we have an M4f. The dilli Gino has is the same as the M (6 color), not sure of the price difference?
Do a search, I've made essentially this same post about 4 times now, but here it is again. We've been very happy with our m4f. It is a workhorse and has some great quality prints...
We spoke with triangle at the ISA show. Both of our JV3s have used triangle for years now. Within the next few weeks we are going to switch over our JV5 to the triangle JVV ink. I think we are going to start out on the cartidges and move over to the bulk system. Out of all of our digital...
If we can't do it in house we don't do it. I'm aware the option to sub stuff out, but that isn't what this thread is about!
We're heading down to the ISA show in a few weeks, the ZUND appears to be a nice machine. We'll be checking them out for sure. If Case speaks highly of it it must be...
Anyone doing this? What equipment are you using? We are thinking a setup to do possibly up to 250-1000 range of shaped magnets. I know die cutting is an option but I'm not having much luck finding the equipment. No we're not looking to farm this out. We have an edge, but that is very limited...
