  4. Wingdings & Dingbats

Just curious as to why image fonts are called wingdings or dingbats, and if you wanted to use one, what is the best way to find it?
  5. the evil anagraph

First, back up all those job files and graphics files to a CDR just in case.
  6. Interested in a starter system

Do not overlook Summa's refurbished equipment either. There is a D60 for $1495 at this time. That's a good price, and Summa gives lifetime support for free. That's even if you buy a used Summa from somewhere else. Here's the link.
  7. Interested in a starter system

Chris, for a minute there I thought you were not going to recommend the D60 to sdgenxr. I'd have to agree that after doing much reading about cutters, and features, and the possibility of making more than a hobby out of it all, and resale value should you decide to quit, the Summa D60 is my...
  8. Can anyone ID this font

Why is one font renamed so often? How does anyone keep track of that?
  9. Creation (CT630) Cutter Driver for VMP

Have you considered setting up your plotter as a generic printer? I have read that it solves a lot of these issues with driver conflicts. There are instructions on how to do this in the VMP help files.
  10. Where To Purchase

Go right to the source and call Bruce at 866-431-1943 The current version is 2.7, but they are waiting on some new dongles before they can ship 2.7. In the meantime, he will give you the code for getting your 2.5 version running. When you do get 2.7 in the mail, you will want to back up...
  11. Hello From BC Canada, and PLEASE HELP!

I think you're missing the right driver, or need to configure the plotter with either Corel Draw, or the Ioline Control Center software. Did you try to install the driver you had for Win98? XP will not have the correct driver for your plotter built in, so you'll need to install one. Here...

Hi Vance, :Welcome: Did you get your Ioline new or used? Do you have the correct drivers for it? What is it doing or not doing? Please give us more information to see if any of us can help.
  13. My Summa D60

So far, my Summa seems to be working real good. It passed all of those little set up test cuts, and I cut a pretty detailed tigers head decal as a test too. :cool1:
  14. Computer Maintenance

That's good practice, and I used to back-up all the time. Then, I started to slip and I don't do it often enough. I do run two computers networked together and found it to be a lifesaver a few times. If one computer goes down, the other is used to do research to fix my problem. I'll be adding...
  15. VMP - Summa D60 - USB

Thanks for the information datcat! So I guess for the time being, I'll have to use the serial port until 3.0 comes out. I wonder, is it possible to have the D60 hooked up with USB for the Summa Cutter Control program for settings (which works) and also the serial port for cutting from VMP...
  16. VMP - Summa D60 - USB

Is anyone using this combination? VMP with a Summa D60 hooked up with USB? How did you do the plotter setup for this? VMP keeps asking me to choose between a serial port or the parallel port, and I want to use USB. :thankyou:
  17. Get the most current Updates for Summa

I think it will cut great. The specs on it looked good, and the price you paid for it couldn't be beat! I'm working on getting my Summa D60 set up today with VMP. Same here, really anxious to cut something too!
  18. Get the most current Updates for Summa

Maybe it's like asking for a Band-Aid instead of an adhesive bandage or a Coke instead of an artificially and naturally flavored carbonated soda. Maybe Summa is the word for vinyl cutters? :thumb:
  19. Get the most current Updates for Summa

Mine didn't do that, it just says it's testing something and then displays speed and blade pressure, but it does say the Rom Revision (firmware) in the Cutter Control Software.
  20. Get the most current Updates for Summa

I've added a link to the above post for Vinyl Express.
