  1. Suggestions As of 2019 Should I go for the TruVIS VG series or the VSi Series?

I think you'll be fine with either, but to be totally honest, the VG we're using has more issues that I'm used to with Rolands. It's not a bad printer, by any stretch, but it's just not as good as Rolands have historically been. We've only had a couple of semi-serious issues, but overall the VG...
  2. Complaining about attitudes on S101?

Gino, you take time out of your day to harass me via PMs. I could give two squats about you. I don't like you. You're a genuinely unlikable person. What I also dislike is you making Signs101 a negative, toxic environment for people. I like this place, I've learned a lot here, and I think it CAN...
  3. How would I go about wrapping a water tower?

Except that not everyone learns the same way. This works for some people.
  4. Question Customer refuses to pay, can I take his graphics down?

Collection agencies here actually buy debt, so it's probably not the same thing. If a customer owes you $10,000 on a job, an agency will by that debt for $2,000 (or whatever) and then they take over collecting the debt and you just take the loss. To do what you're talking about, you generally...
  5. Complaining about attitudes on S101?

You're projecting. Any time you're not the center of attention, you get bent out of shape. You make a post about something funny that happened (which you do ALL THE TIME, because as far as I can tell, you don't actually do any work and just post 1,000 times more than anyone else), it's a great...
  6. How would I go about wrapping a water tower?

Alright, that's pretty neat. I could see applications for that in the industry.
  7. How would I go about wrapping a water tower?

Spider-man? What wall climbing doodlers? I haven't heard of these. Sounds interesting.
  8. Question Customer refuses to pay, can I take his graphics down?

I worked for a guy when I was first starting out who did almost the exact same thing. He told the office manager to call the customer and tell them to have a check ready or he was pulling down the signs and graphics. It worked. They had a check waiting. They also said a few unkind things, but at...
  9. Need advice on vinyl lettering signage

Absolutely. We do something similar to what you mentioned for larger pieces. We add a line just above the copy and use it to measure.
  10. Flatbed UV prints + Decals peeling the ink off

Probably Marabu liquid laminate. You can also roll it with a paint roller if you need to. It generally dries fairly smoothly and works on most substrates.
  11. Flatbed UV prints + Decals peeling the ink off

It can. It depends on a lot of factors, but in general, putting stickers on direct printed coro is a recipe for disaster.
  12. Flatbed UV prints + Decals peeling the ink off

Yes, UV ink peels off of coro in most cases. It's the nature of the beast. There are ways to increase your adhesion, but you'll probably never get it to 100%. If they want to preserve the direct printed coro, tell them to use riders or find another way to attach "sold" indicators.
  13. Need advice on vinyl lettering signage

We just drop a couple of squares in the top corners so we can align to the substrate. Very easy.
  14. Complaining about attitudes on S101?

Just for the record, I didn't say we all "blundered" into the industry from the outside. I said we all learned the exact same way, whether it was from watching people work (growing up in a family business, for instance, or an apprenticeship), making mistakes and learning the hard way, and so on...
  15. Complaining about attitudes on S101?

Perfect example of what I was talking about. Gino is incapable of making a post without resulting to childish insults and naming names.
  16. Workflow software

I've always been a fan of Control. We use Asana as well.
  17. Complaining about attitudes on S101?

I don't disagree with you at all, but there's a pretty big difference between friendly ribbing and straight up bullying and/or harassment. I'll be the first to admit that I get my hands dirty sometimes, but it's always with the same people, making the same tired comments. It's like watching...
  18. Rounded Corners on Light Boxes

I appreciate what y'all do as far as moderation goes, but this site has some severe problems with some of the members that you guys need to deal with. It's driving people away. There's an incredibly easy way to make moderation easier, it's to get rid of the bad apples.
  19. Insurance from Hartford

We had The Hartford for personal vehicle insurance for a long time and they were great right up until my wife knocked mirrors with another vehicle. 300% increase in our rates. Switched to another carrier and got a cheaper rate than we started with.
  20. Question Banner Heat Welder

    Lesiter HEMTEK. Check it out.
