This doesn't answer your question, (but based on the subject) wanted to warn others to stay away from Signwarehouse's house brand of reflective. We normally use Oralite 5600 but black was on backorder a while back and had a big job so bought some to try and get by but it was horrible. Told the...
I've been a Flexi user for 25 years (started with the Vinyl Express LXi software that is essentially Flexi). Some of their updates cause major issues so I rarely do any updates. My biggest complaint with Flexi is their support. Whenever you have ANY kind of issue, they tell you to "update to...
Yes, we do this with metallic laminate, print on reflective white or metallic silver. You can also buy metallic white vinyl but we have so many other options we don't choose to offer it.
This can be a number of things but the first thing to check would be to see if the cap top is clogged for that head. Will pouring cleaning solution drain with that cap top? If you haven't changed cap tops and dampers in a while this would be the first place to start as those are cheap...
It really isn't complicated once you understand how it works but is odd feeling when installing as it never feels quite right when you do it. You kind of have to tilt it and bend it at the same time in order to fit it in the slots. Then it just flaps around.
So the part you want to change will have to be font based. This means you may need to use a similar font to what the customer has provided if the file has it converted to outlines. Once you have that as a font, select all the characters that will be changed, go to Menu: /Arrange/Auto...
The only reason I could think it wouldn't open it it would be if it was created in a newer version than what you have. Normally you can simply open the file by changing the option when opening from "All Readable" to "All Files" and it will open from there. I still have some really old VE...
This will be a big project to change out the inks. Would probably be better to start with a machine that has those inks already in them. Otherwise you are going to have to change out the lines, head, dampers, etc. plus have it reprogrammed for the new ink layout. And many people will tell you...
I came here to say when I replaced the rollers on my Roland it fixed the issue. They get misshapen and/or shrink over time so the machine doesn't have a way to calibrate for it. Make sure the clips holding the rollers doesn't have any cracks in it either. That is pretty common as well.
I played around with several options over the years but switched to Google Drive a couple of years ago since it made it easy to sync all my files between multiple computers. I wanted some off-site storage as if a flood or fire destroyed local computers I may as well file bankruptcy as tens of...
I send my customers to this link to help them measure their own shape of the windshield. It not pretty but does the job to make sure they understand how to make it work. Windshield Curve Compensation for Decals and Stickers
I have found that some of the etched material doesn't look great on certain colors of paint. It can really stand out and doesn't "ghost" very well. Normally I do matte on clear vinyl or choose a matte color close to the customer's color of car.
Make sure you are using something like an Olfa rotary on them. I noticed one of my mats was getting eaten up pretty bad...then noticed an employee using box cutter (pressing down hard) to cut through some sheets of material. This is something that could've been done with a tenth of the...
I have had some clients do this and never heard of any issues. But I mailed them out and they took care of the rest so never seen the finished product.
I feel your pain since I deal with this almost daily. And as others have said, some people will spend hours emailing back and forth trying to get you the "right" file type. I always just send the customer to a link with visuals: Vector File vs. Image File Even after sending them this...
I don't have your exact set up but I'll try an help the best I can. In Flexi when you go to print it will pull up the Rip and Print window. Go to the far right tab which should be the cut dialog (assuming you have set up your cut line properly). You should a drop town right below those tabs...
I hate this too. Many times you can go into your account and delete the cart after the transaction is done but still hate having to go through the extra steps. I had one of my cards get hit/replaced 3 times in a year so I feel your pain.
If you don't want to invest in Illustrator/Draw quite yet, you can do many basic vector things in Inkscape. If a customer doesn't understand why we prefer to use a vector file I normally send them here: Vector file compared to image file
