  1. Banner Sewing

I'd grab that Juki too, that's a great price if it's in good condition. We love ours, wouldn't trade it for the world. you'll be surprised how quickly you will recover the expense.
  2. Printed clear back lit signs washing out when lit... NEED HELP!

Hello fellow Insignia... Jhill's way is one good way to do it. Another is similar to how you're doing it now. Double-print on clear, lay that, but then do a single-print on translucent white and lay that overtop of the clear print. That will give you three ink layers, with white in between, so...
  3. Question about finishing BANNERS...

How many banners to you finish out a week or month? Do the math to see how much money you're spending on banner tape, if you produce a lot of banners you might be surprised how much you're spending on tape. You can get a good used industrial sewing machine for under $2000, so depending on how...

    Thanks so much John!!!
  6. Looking for some insight!

Some brokers may suck, but some sign shops may suck too. There are people who suck in any industry. At the end of the day the vast majority of outdoor advertising purchased around the world is purchased by brokers and agencies. There is nothing wrong with what the OP is trying to do at...
  7. Looking for some insight!

Welcome from Dayton. What city are you in?
  8. Opinion on Color from Signs365

There is, we just finished the training for it and we have a few medias/profiles we're getting ready to send in for approval/certification. G7 was originally an offset printing deal only but it's become a widespread method of ensuring consistent color from one output device to another regardless...
  9. MAD URGENT!!! I missed a big dead line.

Correct, if you don't have the capability of printing a white base or flood under the 4-color process image your prints will be very transparent.
  10. Double sided banners

We've seen a ton of failures using KOMA, everything from serious cracking/delaminating to ink not adhering properly. It seemed like a good budget double-sided 16oz material but it doesn't hold a candle to a good 18oz blockout IMO.
  11. Double sided banners

It might, use a blockout material meant for double-sided banners to be safe. Most regular 13oz isn't completely opaque, we've done it in a pinch once or twice and even with very little light coming through you can see the image on the back side.
  12. Double sided banners

Use a 13oz double-sided material, it'll have a blockout layer in it that will keep the edges from curling under. Even with hems, regular 13oz will tunnel along the edges somewhat. Better yet, look for something labeled as "non-curl", typically it's for retractable banner stands but it works...
  13. Trade show display panels

Typically those are not acrylic. We do tons of these on 0.020" polystyrene with a 10 mil textured polycarbonate laminate on the face and hook Velcro around the perimeter on the back. PM me the specs and I'll be happy to send you a quote!
  14. Trying to decide between SignVox and Estimate

If you want to use it as a management feature go with Signvox. We demo'd Estimate Enterprise about a year ago and unless they've made significant changes to it since then Signvox beat it out by a significant margin.
  15. Trying to decide between SignVox and Estimate

Signvox has many many more job management features than Estimate. Estimate does a good job at estimating, but beyond that it's not an all-in-one management suite. Signvox is also one price regardless of how many users you have or where you're logged in at, which is nice. It's more than some...
  16. Illustrator CS6: What do YOU think?

For what it's worth the "new" dark interface isn't actually new, it's just the new default. CS5 also has the option to be dark, and I think it went back to CS4 but I can't remember. If you don't like it, it's adjustable in the preferences, from one shade darker than default (basically black and...
  17. copper metallic paint

Look at LuminOre and/or Sophisticated Finishes. I've never personally used LuminOre but I've seen it in action and it's very cool. Not cheap, but it's a great look. We used to use a lot of Sophisticated Finishes products and they always gave us good results. I've got some signs out using their...
