  1. Hand lettering or Vinyl??

I don't normally post ugly signs, but I have to wonder why somebody would choose to hand paint a sign like this when they sell vinyl lettering? I would think that vinyl would have looked better? You think this might be a temporary sign for their business? A pinstriping buddy of mine spotted it...
  2. Signs around the resort

Nice style and finishing. The only thing my eye picks up immediately are kerning issues along with a little crowding to the borders of your sign. The only other last detail is on the Woodhaven resort sign, I would have matched the angle of the peaked roof with your lashed wood frame surrounding...
  3. A few recent projects intalled or getting ready to install.

Me personally? I started out hand lettering long before computers were even invented. A natural progression from flat to dimensional just by being passionate about wanting to learn more and more. Made a lot of expensive mistakes. Stubborn hardass that I am, kept learning everything possible. And...

  6. A few recent projects intalled or getting ready to install.

Z are you really sure you want to do that??? It's kind of like fantasizing about being a gynecologist as a teenager but in reality, it could get pretty scary :) What you see on TV and mags isn't quite what you find in real life!
  7. A few recent projects intalled or getting ready to install.

Some are. I have one in EPS, another is welded aluminum, and another enclosed PVC.
  8. A few recent projects intalled or getting ready to install.

As a matter of fact, yes... I was at the wrong door but my employee Keith was sitting in the truck when she got out of her vehicle completely sans clothing. My eyes were spared but his weren't. He's still suffering from the exposure. I'm planning on doing the install during the week when there...
  9. A few recent projects intalled or getting ready to install.

A variety of work in various stages with a ton more to start work on. Is it just me, or are the rest of you up to your eyeballs with work?
  10. Contracts

Speaking of a good contract for the sign industry, I'm thinking of having an attorney write one for my company. I've always been okay with signed proofs and proposals, but I'd like something a little more thorough. I recently got bit by a subdivision who after the fact decided they think the...
  11. Someone actually PAID for this logo...

    I'm kind of digg'n it.
  12. Ugly truck with stupid body lines..in my opinion

Flat out saying no to a client has been a better long term investment than taking their money and running. You can choose to do only good work or you can put your name to crap. Easy choice in my book.
  13. New website

    I really like it!
  14. My Company Logo Design

  15. Hello from Orlando!

    Welcome from Z-Hills
  16. Retro Logo Design

Like the color choices and overall layout. I think you could bump up the size of the pump handle a bit more so it becomes a little more obvious? Only minor tweaks but great design!
  17. Quoting Hand Painted

    Awesome school logo:rock-n-roll::rock-n-roll:
  18. Magnetic sign critique/Question about cutting...

  19. Magnetic sign critique/Question about cutting...

Here are a few different profiles I've done over the years.
  20. Magnetic sign critique/Question about cutting...

I use an exacto knife or utility knife. two passes at most and a steady hand on the curves. Straight edge as a guide on the straights.
