  1. It's here it's here!

Haha this thing is bottom-of-the-barrel cheap compared to real production machines. Go price out an Inca S40 or an HP 7600 if you want to flip your lid... Max thickness is 2.25". Play your cards right and you'll have fun toys too, think positive! Or move up to Ohio, we may be hiring...
  2. It's here it's here!

As soon as the space next door opens up a cutter is going in, it's at the top of the list, just no room whatsoever as it is. We made a colossal mistake moving into this space 3 years ago, we planned for a poor economy thinking we'd see minimal growth and took a space that was what we needed at...
  3. It's here it's here!

CES020, it is ugly, super ugly actually, it's 50's medical green, I do see a wrap in it's future... Ken, We got the ISA show special on it, $95k all in with freight, 3 days training and white ink, normal list how we optioned it would be about $105k so we saved $10k with the show discount (they...
  4. It's here it's here!

Maybe I'm tired and my sarcasm radar is malfunctioning, but just in case you're actually serious, it didn't... Came in a semi, I had it shipped to a rigging company, they unloaded it onto a flatbed and brought it here and set it in place for us. It is not light, I think it would flip that UPS...
  5. It's here it's here!

Obviously not up and running yet, but it's built like a brick house, seriously, this thing is a tank. When the techs come in to get it all working I'll let you know, I'll get you some real world samples off of it if you want to see some.
  6. It's here it's here!

Overall footprint with the tables is about 9'x17' (give or take a couple inches). Without the tables it's only about 3'6" wide.
  7. Fading Blacks with Mimaki

Is it just me or am I seeing some nozzles out? It looks like there are some white lines in the passes, either missing nozzles or your media comp is off. What profile are you using? Is it appropriate for canvas?
  8. It's here it's here!

For the time being yes, we're waiting for the neighbors to move out next door (multi-tenant building), we'll be expanding into their space when they do and then the flatbed will be moving into that space. For now once it's up and running the garage door will remain closed and sealed, and the...
  9. It's here it's here!

Hahaha it does look that way doesn't it? The UPS guy just backed up when we were unloading it.
  10. It's here it's here!

Big day for us here at Insignia, we took delivery of our new CET Color 500H UV flatbed printer! Super excited, now we just need to learn how to run it...
  11. Small UV Roll to Roll

The Fuji looks interesting, I've not heard a price on it yet. What price range are you trying to stay within?
  12. What do you use for a laminator

Depends on how much abuse you intend to put it through. We have a seal, it's decent. We had a Royal Sovereign before that we abused the daylights out of and honestly the build quality seems to be on par with our Seal for much less money. A laminator doesn't really wear out so buy the best one...
  13. contour cut static cling

Haha we went through 3 Graphtec plotters before we figured this out! Yeah, with static, you're best off keeping you sheet size fairly short to minimize bunching. With regular vinyl we usually run decals in sheets as long as 10-12' or more, but we keep static to sheets 4' or under. This...
  14. contour cut static cling

Yes, but usually you need to babysit it as it's cutting. With longer sheets of static as they run through the plotter they'll bunch up on the front and backside just like regular vinyl. But since it's static the material easily sticks to itself as it bunches up and can cause the plotter to jam...
  15. PVC 4x8 Sign Frame

Bill, they're okay with a 3mm ACM panel, but at 4'x8' a 1/4" sheet of alumacorr or equivalent will be a bit more rigid. We've done several with ACM panels with no problems, but they can be a little "floppier" than I'd like.
  16. Estimating Software

I get that fully, but I guess at the end of the day I have to ask "so what?" My credit card number can also be stolen at the gas station or supermarket. It can be stolen when I buy something from Amazon.com or from iTunes. I can be mugged tomorrow. I've had my business broken into twice, both...
  17. Estimating Software

I can. I'm not paying for a tangible product I can touch and feel. I could not care less about having a box with a disk in it sitting somewhere on a shelf here, or the program running on machines here in the shop or being hosted on our server. That is not in any way important to me. Signvox is a...
  18. Estimating Software

I have to chime in on his out of morbid curiosity. Why does it matter if they know how many dollars the program invoices or how many clients are stored or any other information? It's not like anybody under the sun can access that info, of course they have access to it, it's on their server. And...
  19. Ultimate JV33 Bulk System

    Good info, thanks!!
  20. Ultimate JV33 Bulk System

Interesting about the empty slots and the beeping. That would drive me nuts... Let me know if you find a solution to it. BTW, what problem did you have with the Triangle cartridges? I'm considering trying them for a few months prior to switching to a bulk system just to make sure we like the...
