    Regardless, that is a good practice. And when doing numbers, I will usually size from a 1 or a 4 or a 7 depending on the font.

    This is why you set your letter height using flat-topped & flat-bottomed letters first, then proceed to enter the entire text. Also, remember that in most fonts, the numbers are smaller than the upper-case letters by a little bit, so numbers have to be sized separately.

    Optima Bold The thin strokes look a little heavier than normal for that font. Perhaps its been fattened a bit with an outline/stroke.
