  1. Entire Sign Package, need advice

Hello all, We are bidding on a entire sign package for a school which consists of mainly nice custom post and panel signage, blade signs, big letters, etc. We don't do this in-house but we can handle the installation. What companies would you recommend that could do this entire thing and ship...
  2. Elevator Doors

For those of you who have wrapped elevator doors, what type of material have you found to work great. We have a few stainless doors where the graphic will be up for a couple months and tons of kids will probably be touching it/hitting it etc. And when you wrap them, anything particular you...

  5. AGFA buys Gandi

Well most of the times these companies buy up other companies (HP buys NUR, Scitex, Colorspan, etc) to fill product lines they don't have. My guess is Agfa will rebrand several of the machines and keep them going as well as take some of the technology and use it. Most of HP's machines are...

  7. Taking Graphics off plexi when cold or hot

Yeah, we agree it would be much easier just to cover up the old graphics with blockout material then pull all the stuff off.
  8. Taking Graphics off plexi when cold or hot

yep Well, I'm with everyone on the heat, we've been doing this for a long time...it's just that plexi seems to be one of the only materials where heat sometimes makes it worse. The other issue is ruining the plexi...we've used adhesive removers before and it's completely fog up/ruined plex...
  9. Taking Graphics off plexi when cold or hot

We've got a 100 panels of graphics to take off of plexi ice rink panels and the question is whether to use heat to take them off or let them get cold outside first. They've been sitting on there for a year during summer, etc. These are full color, laminated 3x8 graphics. The ones we've been...

  15. JV33 Head removal, bad alignment trouble....

Well from our experience, once you remove a head and put it back, there is about a 2-3 hour alignment procedure that has to be done to get everything perfect again. This is according to techs we know but you may want to talk to a couple online Mimaki experts.
  16. Learn something new everyday

So talking to a long time...long time tech in the field of the UV machines and previous and he said they actually use isopropyl to clean stubborn heads and have even used goo gone several times for severe ones. Anyone ever use isopropyl to clean their UV heads or heard of this?
  17. uv ink adhesion?

There is a whole world of UV ink adhesion the machine manufacturers will not tell you. There is a reason that Sericol has a whole line of adhesion promotors for UV inks for different materials. It will print on anything but it will not stick to anything. We've done thousands of materials, and...

Just a heads up to JV5 and JV3 users, we have recently started using inks from Image Technologies and are pretty frickin happy. Basically if you call them up, they will give you one cartridge for free to test out and then 50% off your first order of cartridges, full set. Per the customer's...
  19. Why Do They Keep Making These Toys!

What would be awesome if the thing did speak to you like 2001 and when it didn't want to work...like a regular employee...it would say, "I'm sorry, I just can't do that Dave."
