Anyone have a strong recommendation for a wholesale supplier of Light Boxes? I put the word exterior in the thread title because I mean a backlit (fluorescent or LED) cabinet with a translucent face, to be installed on an exterior wall or roof. Looking for one or two 12' x 3.5'.
And if anyone...
Although our local suppliers only carry .080 aluminum, our wholesale fabricators routinely use .090 for large commercial signs so it must be readily available to them. It would need to be waterjet cut.
Hooks and Lattice has a line that looks a lot like that. Here's a photo. You didn't say whether you were looking for LED, line or low voltage so this may or may not be what you're looking for. RAB Lighting is another source for similar LED light fixtures.
There are many alternatives to Gemini; different options for different products. Gemini has one of the more comprehensive product lines, however. For example, we find Gemini to be two thirds the price of our alternative supplier on fabricated metal letters, competitive on cut acrylic, and twice...
A window film installer that works with us recommends printing the frosted pattern on clear. I know it sounds terrible, but I've seen photot that look great. Once you nail the photographic texture to print it properly, printing on clear eliminates the variation of the positive and negative...
I've been asked to supply a changeable outdoor message board for a restaurant. Chalkboard would be an appropriate look for this bistro.
Individual letters look too cheesy, banners or sandwich boards would have to be reprinted too often and digital boards aren't the right look and aren't even...
We have to install some break away traffic signs tomorrow. The basics are pretty easy but there are most likely specific standards for installation, such as the amount and depth of concrete, exact position of the splice, etc.
Does anyone know the standards or know where I would find them?
Paul
We use a simple workaround that may help you.
Depending on the size of the graphics, put an outline on it just large enough so that the small dots disappear.
The take the new, larger image and put a negative outline of the same size to return it to it's original size.
The dots will be gone.
Has anyone heard of or done business with Direct Sign Wholesale of Denver?
We have three electric channel letter jobs to source and their price for the first job we quoted was half of the supplier we normally use. Usually that sets off an alarm with me, but the guide they sent us leads me to...
We stopped using our Gerber Edge for outdoor work because the prints faded far too soon. Because different collors fade at different rates, No Parking Signs became Parking signs after a few years when the red circle with slash faded to nothing while the black remained as new.
Has anyone...
We outsource a lot of digital printing and have been very happy with SignCenter in CT and Grand Image in MA. It matters to us that we have one day UPS Ground shipping because normal turnaround is three to four days.
We could really use a good next day printer if anyone has a recommendation.
Is anyone painting lettering on Sunbrella fabric awnings?
We cut masks for a local awning manufacturer and have been using 3M 7125 (high performance) vinyl for the masks at their request.
Lately they have been finding the 3M is not adhering to the fabric as they are used to. Their previous...
Gino, where do you get such large sheets? Our local sign distributors don't carry them. Are you using AlucoBond when you get that large?
Mike, what is the advantage of Phototex? Are you saying to it will adhere right to the Dryvit?
What would you recommend for a temporary exterior sign, when the customer doesn't want a banner and their sign is over 12' long?
This is for a very nice restaurant and they waited until the week before they opened to finalize their logo. I would normally recommend a banner, but they know it...
Not the answer I was expecting. I can't recall ever seeing a hardhat without a company name on it. Is there any way to mark a hat that's acceptable to OSHA?
What type of vinyl and printing do you recommend for application to the compound curves on the side of a hard hat?
I only need a quantity of ten hats. When you put the name on the side, do you do both sides?
We bought our Seal D Series in 1997 (+/-) and are still happily using it to this day. Seventeen years without a problem is nothing to take for granted these days.
I "blame" it's longevity on the fact that it is entirely mechanical with no micro processors on board that I'm aware of.
