  1. How can I use the 720 x 1440 setting on Mimaki Jv3

Can a Jav3 print 1440? I know our Jv33 can. I could never get good color out of flexi so i gave up trying. We use Onyx and Rasterlink and both you will need a 720 x 1440 Profile. I would suggest trying the Avery 3000 profile to start.

  4. Roland to Mimaki

We've been using Rasterlink (comes with the jv33). It does a good job except it has issues with CS4 files, and its nesting sucks. Right now we are testing Onyx, trial version. So far the Onyx rip is about 5-10x faster than Rasterlink, Color is great and nesting is pretty good. It also doesn't...
  5. edge to edge print

Function->Enter->type 1->enter -> 7 Down arrows = Margin Ours is on -.39 in. What exactly that means i'm not sure, but it translates out to about .19 inches from the edge. We get about 53.45 printable area.
  6. edge to edge print

You can adjust the margins to get them down to .19 i think. Its a setting on the printer
  7. Roland to Mimaki

Like insignia says, keep it clean. If it starts doing anything strange you can run a clean cycle while in the middle of a print. Just put it on "local" then do a normal clean. This will normally get anything that sticking to the head. You'll notice that after you run a clean cycle it dirties up...

  9. Question on New JV33

JV33 is a great choice. We love ours. We use the SS21 inks in an enclosed space with no ventilation. We have the special captura air system on it and it works great, sucks up all the fumes and we have no issues.
  10. Ink dates!

From what I've gathered, you have 30 days after it expires. After that I'm assuming that it will reject the cartridge. Hasn't happened to us yet, so i can't verify it.
  11. Ink dates!

I read that Mimaki changed ink vendors and with the new vendor the ink has less of a shelf life. (Can't verify) It seems to answer why everyone is getting screwed on expiring inks and why we noticed the labeling change on the ink. Rule of thumb nowadays is check your ink dates before signing...
  12. Mimaki UJV-160

New UV Printer (i think) from Mimaki. I think its a hybrid. Can it print on coro? Anyone have a good opinion on it? http://www.mimakiusa.com/ujv160.html http://www.mimakiusa.com/SignGraphics.aspx?ct=show&cid=302&level=3&pid=2
  13. Reflective Vinyl

Yes you can. We use the Avery 3000 profile with comps adjusted. I'm not sure what Scanves Amiable means.
  14. Hp 5500 UV, Ink comes off?

Is there anything i should specifically look for when ordering HP UV Ink printable media? What paper would you recommend?
  15. Hp 5500 UV, Ink comes off?

    Are you using UV inks?
  16. Hp 5500 UV, Ink comes off?

Thanks for the info Bob. Good to know about the front heater. Which media profile uses it? It should be AQ printable paper. But I guess it's possible i was sold something different. I've always just used what i thought was the equivalent media selection. HP photo paper i think is the selection.
  17. Hp 5500 UV, Ink comes off?

We have an HP 5500ps with UV ink. After printing, even letting the prints dry for a day, the ink smears off with a finger touch. Is this normal? The heater seems to be broken, but seems like the ink should completely dry after a day. So this begs the question do i need some sort of special UV...
  18. JV33-160 Head partially fail to Print

Make them fix it or send you a new jv33. I wouldn't stand for a machine that doesn't print and is still under warranty.
  19. Seal 62 Base laminator

Can't go wrong with Seal, they are the best. We have one and love it. An Upgrade from our 44" Ultra which was a POS compared to the Base. Only real decision was between the Base and the Pro. But we couldn't warrant the extra cost, since we only do cold lams. Pro has a bigger roller and a swing...
  20. RasterLink Squares on Prints?

From time to time we get these black squares on the print using RasterLink3. It ruins the print. I normally reprint a pdf from the pdf and the second time its fine. Today there was an entire line of Squares and rectangles on some store window graphics we did. Didn't catch it until the print is...
