  1. Connecting 4x4 aluminum posts to concrete

    How about something like this?
  2. Crayon Post for post & panel sign

The crayon ones are pretty easy. Use a round post which can be purchased from most post & panel suppliers. Make the top from HDU. Paint and vinyl to finish.
  3. Smalts question...

Sandman mentioned using Tan smalts. I have done signs with royal blue and burgandy smalts. I've seen some that used two colors of smalt, really looked nice. I just did a quick search and Letterhead Sign Supply has a lot of great colors. https://smalts.letterheadsignsupply.com/
  4. Smalts question...

Where are you guys getting smalts these days? Particularly colors.
  5. What came first, the chicken or the egg........................ ??

hopefully he understands the concept of 50% down 50% on install or maybe he'd go for 150% with 25% rebated after completion
  6. Where do you buy your vinyl?

Old thread, but it's a good topic. We are in a great area for suppliers. I buy most of my vinyl and other materials from Garston. They deliver daily on their own trucks, unless it's a small order that can be ups'd. My back up is Nepco, deliver 3 days a week on their own truck. I get good...
  7. Covid Sick Time?

We have x amount of paid days off depending on how long you're here. So that's what they are supposed to use it for. I had one guy get it and he didn't want to stay out 10 days and since we have a divided space he came in and worked some half days in the back by himself. I appreciated it since...
  8. What came first, the chicken or the egg........................ ??

Yep, I have seen similar situations. I guess I'd ask the zeo what would they need for documents for replacing two existing signs with two of the same.. that they are gone may not hurt or may quash the whole thing.
  9. Any lighting tips for weeding vinyl - especially white - I can not see cut lines

Yea, no lightbox so I use pounce if I have to, showing my age. I also try to cut ahead of time, gets a little easier to see once it relaxes a bit. also weed sectioning can help
  10. Things I did when I was younger & dumber

Yea, I used to love the challenge, now I like a coffee and donut.
  11. Question Gerber Edge II Printing Problem

I don't think you can see blown pixels, at least not that I've heard of. And the blown pixel issues I have seen are usually a straight line of missing foil. That looks like it could just be a dirty head. Try cleaning more.
  12. Good source for large work tables?

I just looked at those, looks like they only come up to 3x8, and $575 (plus shipping probably) with no wheels. Our tables are 4x8 or 5x8. That bottom shelf is kinda useless. We put full size shelves under ours.
  13. Need lights recommendation for our new shop.

You should check with your utility/state to see if there are any rebate programs. We upgraded to all new led fixtures and the state/utility picked up half the cost. The color is way better than the old florescent tubes we had.
  14. Simple sans serif.....

Thanks to both of you. I had looked at both those fonts but not those particular variants
  15. Simple sans serif.....

or so I thought. None of the identifiers came up with this one. Thanks to anyone who can help
  16. Question how do you store substrates?

We have them stored everyway you can think of. Coro and pvc on flat racks since it will bend. We have an old home depot type vertical rack on wheels that gets acm, plastics, thick pvc. A lot of stuff never gets past leaning on the wall after unloading since it goes right into production. And...
  17. Magnetic Panels

Yes, we use the steel ACM often. It cuts and shears fine. Haven't routed but assume it would be fine.
  18. MDO alternative

I don't trust luster board, had some failures. We've used the ones with coro cores but it's a pin to fill the edges to make it look smooth
  19. MDO alternative

10mm ACM? That's plenty sturdy. But I miss signs that were 3/4" + thick. Especially if it's a hanging sign or between posts. That chunky profile looks good. That's why i was thinking 1/2" or even 3/4" PVC with dibond faces would be nice. I'm surprised someone isn't making something like that, at...
  20. MDO alternative

That makes sense, I've used the 3M to bond metal laminate to pvc or gator, but those were interior jobs.
