  1. Print and Cut Off

That's what I thought, but why would it be ok if I cut the sheet and feed it back in versus just leaving on the roll and doing the kiss cuts.
  2. Print and Cut Off

I was doing a job that I don't laminate and printing and cutting in one shot. Without taking the material out of the machine. One side, closest to the home position, is way off in the feed direction and on the other side of the 48" sheet it's in the spot where it should be. Now when I do a...
  3. SP-540V - Scan motor?

Just replaced the scan motor this morning and as soon as I spun the one that was in there I could tell that was the issue. Back to being quieter now and running. Thanks everyone!
  4. SP-540V - Scan motor?

A tech suggested I try that first before buying a new motor since I'm not entirely sure what it causing the noise.
  5. SP-540V - Scan motor?

How did you grease the bearings? I feel like that sound is coming from the carriage. The bearing blocks have little brass fittings on the sides of them which to me took like greasing ports...could be wrong but thats what they look like. I have done the rail with a small amount of grease and it...
  6. SP-540V - Scan motor?

So last night my machine started sounding a little noisier than usual, specifically when the carriage moved back towards the start position when printing. I know the motor has been replaced in the past, whether the counter was reset I do not know. But my suspicion is the scan motor, it has...
  7. Summa Workflow

So I've been told by many! I mean I can get pretty decent cuts but round stuff kills me on my SP540V and the fact that I can cut at a much faster speed on the summa is a plus to finish jobs up quicker. I do a ton of contour cutting and perf cutting, in fact it's 99% of everything I do.
  8. Summa Workflow

I had thought about that but that is an expensive way to go. Originally I had planned on buying a Epson solvent printer along with it but not ready for that large of an investment yet. Plus I think versaworks is great. It's simple and straight forward to use and haven't had any issues with it.
  9. Summa Workflow

So I'm considering getting a summa d140 to help increase productivity a bit, but I was told the flow would be a bit wonky as I'm running a Roland SP-540V. (Which is in good shape and I don't want to get rid of it and I cannot afford a new print system) Does anyone use this kind of workflow? I...
  10. Metallic Vinyl Stickers

I get tunneling with no heat. The stuff is very picky for printing on, but I've yet to find an alternative to it for printing.
  11. Epson s40600 size

  13. Financing Soultions?

Any recommendations on companies for leasing?
  14. Financing Soultions?

I guess that will mean I have to draw up a business plan for one of those. I've only been in this for 6 months now as a business which is making it difficult.
  15. Financing Soultions?

So I've been trying to finance new equipment for the last couple of months. I'm really leaning towards and Epson machine. The company I tried with gave me a rate of 24% interest rate over 4yrs with $5k down. I told them I didn't want to take it because of that rate. They kept trying to tell me...
  16. Metallic Vinyl Stickers

That's what I had thought about as well but, yeah expensive to do it that way. I mean I could just laminate over the metallic vinyl and print on the laminate but kinda defeats the purpose of the laminate.
  17. Metallic Vinyl Stickers

Now that you mention that. You really cannot use high heat on this material. It will tunnel like crazy.
  18. Metallic Vinyl Stickers

Ah I forgot about latex. That would probably work as well.
  19. Need Help VP-540i cut is off & inconsistent

How off are the cuts? 8ft I think is fairly long. I usually never print anything longer than I do the width if I'm doing a Print & Cut. Even then I still get variations in my SP540
  20. Metallic Vinyl Stickers

UV and screen printing is the only ways I can see doing them with bleeds and not having any curling issues.
