  1. Mutoh 1204 not printing gradients correctly

I would suggest this is likely a linearization issue. The linearization is can be off in part of the density curve, resulting in some densities being gray and other densities having a color shift. Have your profiles re-linearized (re-calibrated) and see if that fixes your issue.
  2. Roland XF-640 Carriage Board and Head Board compatible

6000002178 is the correct part number for the current head board for the XF-640. What was the problem that made you determine the carriage board had a problem? Also, what is the reason the new carriage board does not seem to be compatible with the original head board?
  3. Onyx won't send files down to Mimaki UCJV anymore!

I don't know that this will fix your problem, but sometimes a specific file can hang up Onyx. Close Onyx, then go to your Onyx/Work/Mimaki UCJV300-160 folder and delete all the files and restart Onyx. See if that helps...
  4. Need Help mimaki nozzel missing..

As MikePro has said, plenty of experienced people here willing to help, but we need the info MikePro has asked for.
  5. SP540v - Crop print/cut - With or without heat?

I would suggest print with heat, cut without heat for this reason... The heat MAY cause minor dimensional changes where the media is on the platen. The amount of time any given section of the media is on the platen during the crop mark registration sequence will probably be different then when...
  6. New Guy Extreme Newbie - Questions on Mimaki JV3-160sp

You need to do your head alignments first, then the bi-directional for both thick & thin in user mode. The attached files should be done in the order of the file names.
  7. Need Help One line of magenta stops working, strange issue

The reason switching the position of the dampers won't help much in this case is they share a common ink line just a few inches away, so any air leakage is common to both dampers. Did you replace one damper or both? And where did you get them? You can get OEM, good quality aftermarket and crap...
  8. Need Help One line of magenta stops working, strange issue

Did you switch the magenta dampers positions or did you replace them? As the 1204 splits each color ink line at the head, switching them may not tell you anything. If you have replaced them, be sure all the ink line connections are tight. Did you replace the ink line O rings on top of the...
  9. Question Keep Killing Blades

There are blades designed for cutting abrasive materials, such as reflective material. If you have been using a regular vinyl blade, then I would suggest you try the other type. For the Graphtec, you will need to use the red tip blade holder. Possible solution -...
  10. Eco-solv vs Latex

The SP-540V is a slow, but steady and reliable workhorse and very easy and inexpensive to repair and maintain. You will find plenty of tech support on this forum, as well. As was stated, it's about your volume of work. New and shiny isn't always as good as old and reliable...
  11. Need Help Moved printer now black ink is dumping

"I locked the head & had it flat in the bed of my truck". Does this mean you laid it down on its side or was it upright on the wheels?
  12. Need Help Build ICC Profile button or option not available PosterShop 12

To do the ICC profile itself in Onyx requires a version that allows it. There are variations of Onyx. Do you have Postershop or Production House? If I remember correctly, ICC creation is only available in Production House in Ver 12.
  13. Problem printing canvas on Roland Re640

What is the canvas brand and type? Maybe a pic of the label...
  14. Roland sp540v test print

Ribbon swapping is a useful technique when no channels are firing at all. In your case, it will not prove anything, because your print head is firing, just missing a huge section of nozzles. I would examine the bottom of the print head for any physical damage or marks or ink buildup. Also look...
  15. Need Help Profiling - curves not smooth, less-than-ideal gradients

Agree with P Wagner, you are going overkill on the number of patches, which could account for the jaggedness of your curves. Go with the default of 31 patches. I get it on the resolution, it's what works for your customer. I would also suggest you press the total ink limits and make your...
  16. Question Random magenta on all my prints

Please let us know which printer model you are using. This will help to suggest troubleshooting steps. This pattern is usually indicative of ribbon connection problems, but you have replaced the ribbons and it usually shows up in the test print, as well, which I don't see here.
  17. Roland sp540v test print

First question is are the installed parts, especially the caps, OEM or aftermarket parts? If not, I would suggest replacing them with OEM caps. As stated, pushing ink through the head is a risky technique and can easily damage the head internally. Pulling ink also needs to be done with care and...
  18. Need Help Sticker print and cut

"Outgassing or whatever they call it in your village is a myth that can be used to scare small children into going to sleep. Solvent dries via evaporation and when it's dry, it's pretty much as dry as it's going to get." Beg to disagree based on experience in solving this phenomenon with...
  19. Need Help Sticker print and cut

Several things come to mind. As previously mentioned, it looks like the surface wasn't cleaned properly, as I see bumps under the decal. But most likely the vinyl wasn't allowed to outgas properly. When you are going to contour cut into the design (bleed cut), you MUST allow the ink to fully...
  20. Need Help Mutoh VJ1204 Print problem missing half black HELP

Excellent! It's all about ink tight integrity - no air leaks allowed...
