  1. Electronic contract signing

Hey all, I'm looking to see if anyone has experience with having their customers sign documents / contracts electronically. We currently use Shopvox for sending quotes. This works OK - email customer a quote, they sign & scan it back to me, along with a deposit (if required). Or I can ask for...
  2. Trying to put Oce Arizona 480GT into storage without spending $3,000 for a tech...

+1 The old printer is costing you time and money….you need to get aggressive about selling it.
  3. Window Perf Rolling Itself Off

We are re-doing a van right now with this exact issue. We are putting new graphics on, cutting back the perf about 1/4” and using seal tape all around. I am convinced that if you don’t use seal tape on window perf, you are risking failure.
  4. Snap Frame For School Bus??

+1 to this Don’t use snap frames, as suggested above. They are made for interior and can blow open outside, especially on a moving vehicle.
  5. Has anyone used Kalisign?

Are you referring to the company in France? That would be very risky to order signs from overseas. If you know their prices are really cheap, then you must have experience purchasing channel letters, so why are you asking for recommendations?
  6. How are these banners are made?

Any fabric vendor can do this. We use Indy Imaging.
  7. Employee side business

As an employer, it doesn't seem like moonlighting would be a threat to my business. What jobs could my employees be doing that customers do not want Mon-Fri daytime service, any insurance requirements, etc? I'm not saying it is not possible, just hard to see much substance to it. My employees...
  8. Hiring a business coach

I don’t think that is extreme. I limit what design we offer. I am the only salesperson/designer to feed 5 people work, so I can’t afford to mess with design-intense projects. That said, I can do production design very quickly. I have had graphic designers in the past, thinking they can take...
  9. Metal Gemini letters on siding - peaks or valleys?

That is ideal if you can get to the other side. We have used a dob of silicone around the stud too.
  10. Sign Install...

I think this is a good solution. I would prefer to mount a new panel like this than to deal with removing/applying vinyl in the cold.
  11. Alternatives To SignAgent For Plan Reviews?

I was wondering if it was normal to be given floor plans and have to figure out the sign schedule. That seems really risky. I did it for a school this summer, but I was pretty certain I was getting the job. The customer was not bidding it out. I put a qualification on my quote that stated we...
  12. For All the Facebook Lovers

I copy the same post on FB, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram and Google Business. Like any advertising, it is hard to tell exactly what it is drawing in. I don’t spend any money to promote or pay for ads. From what I can tell, LinkedIn gets way more exposure and response than all the others put...
  13. Small shop looking for employee management advice

As long as your business is reasonably profitable, it sounds like it is doing OK. Don’t look to retirement as finding a new owner, handing over the keys and bolting. If you plan ahead to stick around for a couple of years to transition it, that will probably make it sell much easier. Also...
  14. Permanent Carpet Vinyl(?)

Any kind of vinyl, even the ones specifically for carpet, are not going to hold up for very long. What about G Floor mats?
  15. Mimaki UCJV-300 Reviews

The UCJV300 is a great specialty printer. As White Haus said, it is not a good machine to replace a solvent or Latex printer for typical adhesive vinyl prints, etc. We own one and use it mostly for 4c/white/4c exterior backlit prints. It does this very well. It is worth it for this purpose...
  16. Matthews Tie Bond substitute

Has anyone found a good substitute for Matthews Tie Bond? It is out of stock and no ETA on replenishments. We use it to prime acrylic.
  17. site surveys

Being able to read your customer and just use some common sense can go a long way here. I don’t mean that in a derogatory way. Sometimes we can overthink things. I believe most customers realize we cannot afford to invest oodles of time into something with no commitment. On the other hand...
