  1. Really getting bored now

30 single-sided 4mm coro signs due by end of business today BEACH CLOSED PER ORDER OF THE OKALOOSA COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND 96 TEST WING COMMANDER
  2. Max Metal Madness

Still fighting our sales staff and other designer to stop using "mil" and "M" i.e 4M, 3M, 6M or 4mil, 3mil, 6mil it's "mm" dammit! Don't even get me started on "ss" or "HP". You think the customer is going to know wth that means?

  4. Really getting bored now

Social Distancing has never been a problem for me. Don't go to parties, clubs, bars, pubs, sporting events, etc. The most crowded place I go, out of necessity, is the grocery store. Hell even our barbecues are me, the wife and cats. I hate people in general. If it were up to me I'd live in the...
  5. Really getting bored now

Beaches closed in this part of Florida. Sorry spring breakers.....NOT
  6. Really getting bored now

We have a staff of 9. We've implemented unpaid time off if any volunteers. We have 1 employee that has a "weak" immune system so 1/2 days and the income isn't an issue. Trying to split 1/2 days amongst ourselves but some are more reliant than others. Work has been steady though. Lots of virus...
  7. Shop Organizer/production Programs

I wanted to go to a projector that projected a desktop production status and staff could update it from a workstation thus projecting a continuously updated board for all to see. The sales staff wouldn't have to get up and leave the showroom to pencil in the workorders and such. There wouldn't...
  8. Shop Organizer/production Programs

We've been using a Dry Erase Production Board for years. It's mounted to a pulley and weight apparatus so it can be moved up and down to allow access to shelving behind it. We can put 10-15 jobs a days on it. All color coded to represent different production needs and progress tracking. Blue for...
  9. Question What sales opportunities are still out there with everyone on Covid-19 social distancing?

Chick Fil-A, various shopping centers, hospitals, nursing homes have all ordered signage that's Covid-19 related.
  10. Can Flexi Print Manager sub light cyan with 50% Cyan?

p.s. new print head is due to arrive tomorrow Just thought I'd throw out the idea as it seems logical but.... Isn't lc just diluted cyan anyway? lol
  11. Need Help Printing several copies of the same image

I for one, don't like tying up my print tech with these matters. Use a vector program and set up your full page as needed. Step and repeat, copy paste, script or macros etc. You have much more control and can do it a lot faster. Maybe that's just me. I use macros to set up the quantity...
  12. Can Flexi Print Manager sub light cyan with 50% Cyan?

Lost lc printhead on our HP360. I know we can use various profiles that only use CMYK but is there also a way, through, Flexi Print Manager to sub 50% Cyan for lc instead?
  13. Different approach to design

Corel has the option to link images but never use it. Absolutely no need to. Creates more headache than it's worth. I use raster effects from Photopaint. I keep a vector copy behind any raster for cutting i.e. beveled text and such. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS TO DESIGN WRAPS SOLELY IN PHOTOSHOP...
  14. Different approach to design

Yes, 1 folder containing 1 ai. file. No need for anything else. That ai file should hold all the images needed (both side views, back, etc., all design elements whether used in the final or or not. I see no need to have everything separated into multiple files And, for God's sake, quit with all...
  15. Different approach to design

This actually isn't the only person I've seen come through here that does this. The common denominator seems to be Adobe users. I've been with this company 16years and have seen 6-8 other designers come and go for various reasons. All of them Adobe trained.
  16. Different approach to design

I do all wrap designs with Coreldraw and at full scale. Rarely are any of the files over 300MB. SInce I am the soul designer in a very busy sign shop the boss had asked one of our production members to design a "half wrap". He has extensive experience but only in illustrator. Doesn't matter to...
  17. Suggestions Looking for a certain vector

Coreldraw. Must be all vector. Envelope Tool. Bend and shape nodes as desired. Complete twist doesn't look so good though
  18. How should I do this?

No, I've never tried that. We have a Mimaki plotter with FineCut pro. Not even sure it's possible to do a two piece plot. I came up with my own "little plan" if I were to even attempt something like this. haven't tried ti but seems "logical".
  19. How should I do this?

I take it there isn't a "natural break" in the body line so you could make a two piece cut instead of one long continuous? It has me quite intrigued so I'm going to look into this further. We've simply told clients there would be a seam at some point as plotting anything over 12' is nearly...
