My 2 cents worth. Grays? As cmyk or Pantone? I've found that Pantone grays are much better. Probably something to do with the way the default RIP converts the Pantones.
p.s. NEVER EVER USE

for black.
Yes, know the product. We just needed a generic name to call these "big heads" all the family members want to "shake" around during graduation events or sports games. We just started calling them fat heads for simplicity.
We do these all the time. Best photo from an original source i.e. not facebook, not a photo of a photo, not a low res from a cell phone. No matter what, we ultimately print our decal at 150 -300 dpi with LZW compression as an rgb tiff. Apply the decal to 4mm coro and cut with an x-acto then use...
I'm old at this and have never understood why the difference either.
If I print a pdf with pantone and wth 110pass it's very close but if I send using the cmyk formula by the swatch book it's way off.
Tried that too as suggested by SAi. No go. It was more than color shifting. Transparent png's were no longer transparent. All had "ghosting" of a background. However, I understand there have been some updates to 19 since but....we're too scared to mess with it.
We did the exact same. Had to fight tooth and nail with our Print Tech over it. Wasn't until I forwarded an email I had received directly from SAi telling me to go back to 12 that persuaded him to comply.
Had to ask. We only use Flexi Production Manager to handle the prints but design in Corel. We export as pdf to a "hot folder" for our Print Tech to sort thru. Only time we rasterize is if we get a file that was all raster to begin with or it's too complex for pdf to handle.
Depends on the type of signs. We had a realtor supposedly get 10 double-sided corrugated yard signs stolen. Turns out it was the city. Just like political signs are required to be removed within a certain period of time too. I think some municipalities even invoke a fine if not complied with.
Fonts should be kept in a network folder here. If a coworker is missing the font, FontManager will offer to install it. Provided you have set up FontManager properly.
Yes, that's what I thought. Have one as is and a duplicate with fonts converted.
Yes, notes too. Print profile used, specific material and/or substrate, matte or luster laminate etc.
Often times i see posts with 50 views but no replies. I open the post and it's gibberish. Either too vague or using words no one understands. I'm not speaking of any language barrier either.
"How do I make this?" -no example given, nothing!
"Need help with this" -file won't open, no file...
Find a new vender to print for you. They obviously haven't a clue!
No drop shadow effects? Just 2 lines of text?
How about a snip of the design? Use the free microsoft snipping tool, much better than screen shot. Just copy and paste here.
