I You probably have blown the F2 fuse on the mainboard. I have had this issue before, but check the ribbon cables to the head also. Please note the F2 fuse is very small and soldered to the board. Their is loads of threads on this site regarding this. SC

The solution is :- replace the card readers inside the machine. It is a bad design and when sliding in and out the cartridges the pins on the reader get bent. I have replaced these 3 times now and now run bulk inks so you do not remove the cartridges so you can't damage them anymore. SC

Can anyone confirm this is a damper problem?

The Cyan on my old 1604 is leaking back on one of the cyan channels. Will this be a damper/O ring problem or do I have other issues? Maintenance station is about 2 months old and I have no other problems with colours except one of the cyan channels. Thanks SC

My 1604 has ran for years with a dodgy ethernet port. It is currently weged up with a bit of tape. But on looking it should be a relative simple job to solder a new port in if you can find a similar port. Mutoh want to replace the whole board all for an ethernet port!!!! SC

Also if you have dripped ink onto the electrical connectors you could of blown the head which will require replacement. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it happened on my printer. Just be happy it has not taken the main board with it. SC

I am always gentle fitting tne ink cartridges but I have still bent the pins. I now use a bulk ink system which eliminates the constant removal of the cartridges. Like I said it's a real bad design on these machines. SC

I cannot believe anyone has had no problems with this material. I have also found the material to ink can "all I can call it is shear". It is as if the ink is having an issue with the coating on the material and if too much is reacting with it. SC

I think these have a special ink developed by Mutoh so they can print onto a wide variety of sheet material. Bit specialised these machines even though they are based on proved technology. I was a bit concerned the print area is just 1615mm x 1200mm. I would of hoped it would at least print...
