Remove plastic cover on the head and remove the bar with two screws that the dampers are held in with.
The dampers simply lever out (be careful not to damge the input nipples on the head.
Simply unscrew the line by hand and refit with new seals.
Pull ink through with a syringe to half fill...
I have managed to file about 1mm of the raised part of the guide plate and this has solved the issue.
Too scared to print without guide plates...
I am going to have to replace all the head carriage bearings, which is probably over due as the printer is now 12 years old!!!
Just imagine how many...
Their is a metal strip to the left of the print head. It is definitley hitting this on the way back.
I am a bit concerned about removing the guide plates, if the material has a high spot at the end will this cause a crash?!!!!
Would it be an idea to sand a little of the height of the guide...
In the last month I have had a slight tick as the print head comes over the guide plate.
I do most of my printing with the head on the high setting but this afternoon I dropped it and it will catch it and move the guide plate across.
It looks as if it is not the head that is touching but the...
One of the main reasons why I don't use Signlab for Printing.
The built in RIP is way to complex and expects you to tweek and make your own profiles.
Most RIPs have a generic set of profiles that will come close to printing decent matches, sadly you will spend months getting it almost right and...

I have bought machines of sellers before saying that they were working the previous week and they were blocked solid and had obviously been unused for a very long time.
If the machine had been flushed it should still have cleaning fluid in the lines etc.
Also pulling ink through or pushing it...
Thanks for the info.
But after a bit of lubrication and cleaning of the rail it seems to have gone quiet again.
Which is good as I am not keen on the replacement job.

Can you show me how i get to the rear lower bearings?
Are the lower rear bearingassemblies only held in with one screw and the whole assembly comes off?

Hi All
I have annoying noise which seems to eminate from the carriage of our nearly 12 year old VJ1604 when printing.
I have always been vigilant keeping the carriage track and bearings clean.
But out of the 8 bearings I can only maintain the facing ones and the top rear bearings and track as...
To print a pure black on any CMYK it has to be set on C:100/M: 1000/ Y: 1000/ K: 100.
Set at C:0/M: 0/ Y: 0/ K: 100 will just print the black channel which if you are using cheap inks can be anything but Black when printed.
Also you might have cross contamination of the CMYK channels.
If you are...
