I am looking for a good low to mid-volume roll-to-roll UV curable printer. Something speed-wise comparable to an HP Latex 360 printer. We have an Oce flatbed with the roll printing option, but it is not very robust. We cannot print to heavier or wide rolls very well. We have a couple of...
I used CD for many years, this was one of my big beefs with it. New versions were always very unpredictable, and it took a couple service packs to get it stable. We switched to Adobe a few years ago and I can't imagine going back. I'm not saying illy is perfect. Consider the benefit of using...
The steel sheet would give a little bit of strength, but not a lot. I'm not fond of thinning the glass. It would defeat the purpose of this - to look high-end and be very durable long-term. I think I'll try a little thicker gauge of steel and see if that helps.
I tried a piece of 26ga steel behind 1/2" thick glass. There is some magnetic pull, but not a lot. I'm guessing that is why the ones you find online are so thin (the only one spec'd I could find was 3/16" glass). My glass guy recommended no thinner than 3/8" for as large as my customer wants...
We often use square alum tube for support in the middle on 2-sided HDU sign. Held together with Gorilla Glue. It is probably overkill, but it is rock solid.
I have a customer that wants a glass dry erase panel, that is magnetic, with an image printed 2nd surface with a white background.
What is the best way to go about making this? I have a flatbed UV that can print the image on the glass, then I floodcoat the glass with white paint? Would 1-shot...
We're not required to be a licensed contractor in this city, but do (and are) in surrounding communities. Every one of them is different. I like the idea of putting verbiage in the quote that customer is responsible for permit, if customer chooses to not let us get it.
The sign is a double...
Our city will allow either the property owner or sign contractor to obtain a sign permit for an exterior sign. I have done a number of jobs both ways, just depends on the customer (some like to save money by obtaining the permits themselves). My question is, what happens if my customer tells...
I went to SGIA 2 years ago. I was very disappointed in the number of major sign industry suppliers that were not there. It is definitely more print focused. I vowed to never return to SGIA. I'm sticking with ISA.
Talk to the people at Cyrious and tell them you want it set up simpler like SMS. We used Cyrious for many years, so I know what you are talking about. Also, make sure you are updated to the latest version. We switched from Cyrious Control to Signvox 3 years ago, and I don't regret it. I...
I'm not at work now, but I believe that is what I got too. I didn't notice it wrong at the time. Maybe something in the file is corrupt. Try copying the layers into a new file.
How does it look in Onyx Preflight? Is the gradient in the Spot layer there?
If the gradient is there, then the issue is with your profile.
If it is not there, then something is wrong with the Photoshop file setup.
You can print halftones and gradients with white ink, but the spot channel mask needs to reflect that. If your mask is a solid color, you will print solid white. You need to gradiate your mask just like the white gradient.
