  1. InDesign - How to save hi-res pdf @ 10% scale

I think you are doing it correctly. You don't want any downsampling. What is the rez of the linked PSD files (go to Window-Links)? Since you are at 10% size, it should be at least 500-700dpi (since it is being blown up 10x), otherwise it will look bad when output.
  2. Update on signVOX, shopVOX - Finally

It is inevitable that Signvox will die. I don't believe Rao is being realistic when he says "Signvox is here to stay". There is no way a platform can survive without adding any new users. The Signvox user base will only continue to shrink as people either leave Signvox or migrate to Shopvox...
  3. Custom Size Fitted Table Throw

Moss can do it mossinc.com Expect pricing to be several times the rate of standard covers. Not sure if Orbus will do it or not, they would probably be less.
  4. ink transfer and stickiness after lamination

I'm not familiar with Ferrari media, but it definitely sounds like the liquid laminate is reacting with the media. You could contact Ferrari and see what they recommend. Probably need to find a new laminate or new media.
  5. Dreamscape Suede problem

Pat - thank you for the tips. I'll try calling Dreamscape next week to see if they have any wisdom. Dtay - I was never comfortable solvent-printing wallpaper. I never got any complaints from customers about smell, but all it takes is one person....
  6. Dreamscape Suede problem

    Bump
  7. Dreamscape Suede problem

Sorry, I should have been clearer. Picture is of several rolls of media, all have "lines" that go horizontal as you look at the picture. They are probably a little difficult to see. We are using an HP 280 latex printer.
  8. Dreamscape Suede problem

We have used Dreamscape Suede wallcovering for years here, having done a number of jobs with it. I have a love-hate relationship with the material. It often has this stripe-y appearance to it (see attached pic). This sometimes translates into the print, causing color bands. Since switching...
  9. 6mm Brushed Aluminum Composite

I know this is an old thread....but brushed finish Alupanel is NOT for exterior use, nor any aluminum composite material that I know of. See note at bottom here: http://www.multipaneluk.com/products/sign-materials/alupanel/ Where can outdoor durable brushed aluminum sheets be purchased? Gemini...
  10. Fabric Printing??

We have been doing more fabric printing in-house lately. I'm selective on what we do in-house though. One of the big sticklers with fabric printing is the finishing. It's a whole new ball of wax from vinyl banners. I've never been fond of outsourcing finishing. Some 3rd party who couldn't...
  11. Book color vs. CMYK color (Illustrator)

We use Onyx RIP, and for Pantone colors it does not matter how the color is set up. It looks for the Pantone name and replaces the color with info from a table. Your RIP may work differently. Using book color is good practice, as that will look most accurately on screen.
  12. Direct to coro prints scratch easily (Dark colors not bonding)

We have had 2 different manufacturers of UV printers, and 3 different ink types. On all 3 inks, pretreatment with chemical makes night and day difference for ink adhesion when printing coro. With our current setup coro is the only material that still requires pretreatment. I would venture to...
  13. Depreciating Equipment?

Key is determining the realistic life of the equipment. We generally do 5 years for digital print equipment, 7 years for plotters and cutters. I think 7 years is the max. Then we split the purchase price evenly among the years. I would advise consulting with an accountant.
  14. Canvas Prints Stretched on to Frame

Paula - we print onto canvas wallcovering, then apply to box with wallpaper paste.
  15. Extended radius posts

Looking for a source for extended radius posts - see attachment. These come from Charleston Industries. I'm looking for a lesser expensive source that doesn't have the notches, etc. 3x3 or 4x4 size.
  16. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

We have owned a variety of digital printing equipment over the years. I agree that all machines will have issues, and that it is all about the support and help you get through those problems. In the flatbed arena, we have owned a Fujifilm and an Oce machine. Night and day experiences. Buy...
  17. Vinyl for stainless steel suggestions

    I would recommend a high-tack vinyl, like Oracal 3951HT.
  18. Switching from cyrious to signvox

We are in the process of setting up pricing, etc in signvox. We currently use cyrious control. Just curious for any feedback of cyrious users who made the switch and what challenges there were. We really like what we see so far, signvox is much more progressive and user-friendly. Just a...
  19. Rigid Clear Material

Grimco sells a 10mil clear polycarb that is not too expensive. You may try Lexjet too.
  20. Looking for Octagon Shapes

Try Grimco - pretty sure they sell 18" Stop signs, so I'm sure you can get just blank aluminum.
