My guidelines for our printing
1st - PDF with fonts converted. Especially if gradients and/or pantone colors are present.
2nd - Tiff If all or majority is raster
3rd - eps Can be used but only if there are no gradients and color variation isn't a concern
That's as simple as I can make it.
By bringing in to print do you mean to the Flexi design program then to print? Why not just drop in a hot folder(print que) and print using Flexi Print Manager?
That's the general consensus? Keep doing what you're doing but at a higher rate of pay? It's okay that you're over taxed as long as you're paid well? The idea is to lessen the workload for one person. An increase in salary doesn't do that. I agree a sit down meeting needs to happen and maybe...
Yes, you might as well be the owner of the business too. I'm lead design/production asst. Our shop consists of 10 individuals
1- Owner/Operator
2- sales staff
2- designers/plotters/production asst
1 - accountant/sales asst/production asst
2 - production/installers (1 full time & 1 pt)
1 - site...
Doesn't answer the question but...we don't get into that business. Too expensive!
"Better off getting it painted" is what we tell em. They insist then quote upwards of $5k. They usually back off or go find a hack wrap shop to do it..
could also set up a heavy duty cutting mechanism to cut through the 30" roll where by making several 5" rolls then chop on a guillotine paper cutter.
I see that that plotter does have the ability to "Half Cut". But I bet there's a way to set it up to feed out 5" then completely cut. Wouldn't be...
Do you have the option to "punch cut" or "Half Cut" as it's sometimes called? What size roll are you cutting from? Might be able to order a pre-cut roll at 5 x whatever then just set up a single half cut line every 30. Might even be able to set up an actual cut at 30 if your plotter allows it.
Latex or Solvent? Is it in fact "printable" reflective. There is a difference. We use 3M 5101 R series with no problems on our latex. Go straight from print to laminate.
We had similar issues when upgrading to 19, in addition to many transparent images would still print a visible "ghost square" around the images. Reverted back to 12 and there we stay until it's fixed.
trouble with that pdf chart is that the actual color swatches are cmyk not the pantone. Doesn't say what version either. I tried matching using various pantone versions and get a much different outcome.
Seems to depend more on the printer and/or the RIP. With our HP360 and Flexi Print Manager we've had to create custom profiles in order to match pantones. The only way we've found is to increase the number of passes which slows the print down tremendously. Also pdf seems to convert closer to...
