  1. Cleaning UV ink off print table

UV ink removal from bed If its a small area - I usually just take a utility blade at a low angle and scrape it off with vacuum in reverse so its blowing out and won't suck the ink down into the air ports. You can also use graffiti remover from Lowe's. Its called Motsenbocker's Lift Off 4...
  2. High heat environment

Hello all, Need help with recommendations for a material that is going directly above heating element in sauna rooms at YMCA locations. Must be able to withstand high temps up to 180 degrees right at element and still not transfer heat if someone touches it (metal not an option here). Will...
  3. Its amazing what people do for an install! Who would have the guts to do this?

I've seen worse. Only thing I see (well, other than the pallet tower) is that neither forklift is rated to pick up something that heavy. When I have moved my UV printers I have had to hire a rigging company and they brought super heavy duty lifts with 8 foot forks. If its in the building and...
  4. Cleaning the bed

Lowe's sells a graffiti remover in the paint section called Motsenbocker's Anti Graffiti. It will release it from the bed then just wipe it up. Make sure to enable vacuum to blow out instead of suck in to blow any chemical out of air ports.
  5. Using my flat bed to print short run t-shirt's

Will it work? Yeah. Will you get sued when one person has a negative skin reaction to the ink? Absolutely.

  9. Banners between columns

Gino, You and I think alike. The customer insisted on standard vinyl to get the best "image pop", even though I had the windload discussion with her. The bottom flap is not that big of a deal. There are D-rings at the angle where it starts to keep it from getting too wonky. We are going to...
  10. Banners between columns

We do all the area YMCA's in town and one of them is an older building with huge columns on the front porch. They want to drop two banners between the columns in a permanent mounting situation. My question is what is best method to do this? Here is why I ask... I installed the banners with...
  11. How often is your flatbed or other equipment down?

I am on my third CET flatbed printer - and I started with serial number 001 of the original FK series. None of mine have had major downtime issues caused by internal wackiness in the printer or controller that I didn't somehow cause myself. My current CET is a 16-head CMYK 4x8in the Q500 series...

  14. troublesome customer - how would you handle it?

You have to set the ground rules before starting any project like design work on what is a reasonable timeframe for completion, charges for changes and rush charges for altering the timetable. Its merely a question of who is in charge of YOUR time.

  19. Yet, another freaking problem

Did you purge the individual lines? Seems like you may have air between head and ink buffer.
  20. Humidity problems in flatbed

If your humidity is low and you won't buy a humidifier - then you are pretty much done. There is no magic way to increase the humidity in a room without the addition of H2O to the air. 30% is way too low for UV printing. We stay around 55% year round with a small direct plumbed humidification...
