  1. Discussion making silkscreens

Could you use a rubber stamp?
  2. Cultured Stone Wall

Yep what others said. And if one pops off, glue it back. But I would discuss it with the client so they know what's going on.
  3. How do you structure your pricing for vehicle magnets?

Are you guys including sales/design time?
  4. What percent do you markup off the shelf parts & retail items on average?

Varies according to the item. Like a bag of concrete is cheap, but we have to spend the time to pick it up. Something that gets delivered to our shop by a vendor doesn't have any added cost. And more expensive an items can be way more profitable with a smaller percentage mark up.
  5. Best way to deal with companies wanting to be listed on your Insurance?

My insurance company doesn't charge either. You can add a charge for Insurance Paperwork as part of the disclaimers on all contracts
  6. ACM What is it?

ACM would be OK for this application. You will have to sand the edges after cutting, and if they drop it, it won't break. I would use 1/2" gatorfoam for tradeshow signs a lot. It's light and strong, but can be broken of mishandled.
  7. How to turn adhered gloss laminate into matte or satin?

only thing I can think of is liquid clear coat in matte, but you'd probably have to do the whole thing to make it even
  8. Check the Price of ACM before you bid

Yep, prices have gone up more in the last two years than I can remember in quite a while.
  9. Waht material did they use?

9 years floating around in the ocean and it's starting to peel....
  10. Intimidated by new competition

Like the storefront, hate the sign (and name). Looking at their website they have a ton of experience in garments & wraps. They have no signs in their portfolio
  11. Copy Writing / Trade Mark Logos

yep what they said....it's one thing to do a one off for a customer, that usually can be gotten away with, but to be out there marketing on the web you will probably get caught. and depending on who catches you it could put you out of business and worse.
  12. Aircraft Dash Panel

I have done a few. I used reverse edge print on matte lexan for one. Printed decals with clear for another. Of your options I think print on wrap vinyl and matte lam (applied to a painted surface) is a good and simple choice
  13. Warehouse Sign - How should I make it?

Depends on the budget. If the current sign is in good condition I would clean, paint frame if needed and reface with ACM or just apply a print over it.
  14. Car magnets falling off when cold?

The bigger the magnet the bigger the problems. That combined with a decline in quality of both magnets and metal. And the recommendation to remove and clean under them is great, except in cold weather. Unless the cleaning and installation is done inside the cleaning fluid may freeze before it...
  15. Suggestions box trailer rivets/screws, paint or leave white

Its a judgement call. We often cover ones in solid color areas, sometimes with paint markers, or with cast vinyl.
  16. Merry Christmas

This year's card. I'm a dinosaur, I think I know 3 or 4 other small businesses that still send cards.
  17. Dark/Navy Blue Prefinished panel

Yes, it's an odd setup. Always have to remember to check which side is out. And what if for a simple double sided sign, you have to bond two together.
  18. Dark/Navy Blue Prefinished panel

If it were a few panels that's what I'd do, but with the quantity I'd rather not. I have found one manufacturer (Alupanel) that has a dark blue ACM (thanks Gary), waiting for a sample now
  19. Dark/Navy Blue Prefinished panel

Yes, single sided and will be mounted on brick walls.
  20. Dark/Navy Blue Prefinished panel

Yea, we could paint them ourselves, but it's like 50 2x10 panels...I may get a price on powder coating.
