  1. Dark/Navy Blue Prefinished panel

I'm looking for a pre-finished panel, preferably 4x10, in dark/navy blue. It could be 3mm ACM, fluted core, or 080 aluminum or any flat rigid exterior material which would take vinyl letters. My vendors don't have anything, even in their custom architectural panels. I could go powder coated...
  2. Gerber Edge FX software and printing

You have to import the eps file into Omega and then assign the spot colors individually. And check the files to make sure there aren't extra paths. When importing into Omega there will sometimes be doubles, especially with centers of letters.
  3. Sign cabinet frame question

"Yes, that's the way to go except when you are out doing estimates and don't have your lift/bucket with you. When using a ladder and you're up 15'-20', you cannot pull a 5'x10' sign out safely" Which is when you guesstimate the size and include the cost for a return trip to pull the faces in...
  4. Reflective aluminum signs

If you have to have 4x4s shipped it may make it too expensive. I would source the 4x4s local sheet with reflective and do cut vinyl lettering
  5. Best way to deal with seams on multiple face panels across large lighted cabinet?

We have done the the overlap strip, not great but it works
  6. Need Help Client requesting files

Been discussed a hundred times. To help avoid this in the future add a disclaimer to all orders "All artwork is the property of XYZ Sign Co. etc." As far as this client goes you have to make a judgement call, if you think you may get them back continue to sell them the files, if you think they...
  7. Dancing on vinyl

It's an interesting problem....lots dance floors are fairly slippery, so you use a non-slip laminate and somebody's ankle twists when they hit the non-slip after sliding across the smooth floor. Then you get sued for causing their injury? Maybe just skip the whole thing.
  8. Suggestions Applying vinyl to cut out letters

Are you sheeting the letters or applying a cut vinyl letter that has land in a particular spot?
  9. Every Installers Nightmare

Just looked this up, story says no one was hurt, thank goodness.
  10. Question How do you lift large signs into place >10ft high?

For that type of sign and height I'd also use ladders and two men
  11. New Product Digital design/ tea company

To answer your question "D" To add to the critique, it took me a minute to figure out it was the birds wing wrapping around the cup. Lose the sleeve on the other wing so it's more obvious. Is that the color of the tea, it's a really unappetizing shade. There's something going on with the other...
  12. Primers on clear vinyl ?

Do you have the border set as "clear"? If you do just remove the clear fill, have it with no fill.
  13. Selling your business

I agree with Kerning, let them make the offer. If you are really thinking it's time to move on, don't get greedy, small independent sign businesses with no assets are not as easy sell.
  14. Options besides Matthews paint

We are using Imron right now.
  15. Suggestions Don't be like me...

Yep, worst was when I was slicing some vinyl between lines of text and somehow slipped and stuck the xacto in my gut...
  16. Touch up paint for Max Metal

We carry paint markers in the truck for little touch ups
  17. School me on Grommets

    Yes
  18. Need Help gerber service/repair

Yep, we did the same, shipped it to them and they fixed and shipped back. Worked great.
  19. What to do with equipment

I sold some useless to me HP printers for a couple hundred bucks on Craigslist. One guy bought one to try to get going for his sister who was studying architecture, the other to a guy who wanted to do art prints.
