  1. Newbie: is it alright if I post about...

Why not make a large 6x10 foot jig and direct print them with a flatbed that has varnish and/or white ink. The distance from the head to the inlay can't be beyond 1mm so you would not get a huge amount of ink displacement. Send me some chips and I'll show you what I mean and take a video of them...

  4. Best Flatbed?

UV printers Sorry... I probably come off as a sales guy, but I own and operate a flatbed everyday. I USED to be a sales weenie in my past, but I was also a technical manager and a color management trainer, too. $50K - $500K is a little broad - don't ya think? If $500K is in your checkbook -...

  8. Best Flatbed?

C'mon - you can't ask that question without some parameters. Its like asking which is the best car, who is the best woman or what is the best beer. You have to establish some gating items that need to be met before you even ask this question. What is your budget? What is your physical floor...
  9. CET COLOR X-Press FK512 flatbed.. thoughts?

How much experience would you like for the FLORA models? Worked with FLORA for 3 years when DuPont was in this market. FLORA made our 22UV model. FLORA is a good Chinese company that will build them as you design them. I am not entirely sure that you can buy a FLORA printer here in the US due...
  10. CET COLOR X-Press FK512 flatbed.. thoughts?

Don't discount anybody's printer based on one shops reported downtime issues without fully knowing that shop's individual workflow and maintenance schedules.
  11. CET COLOR X-Press FK512 flatbed.. thoughts?

My CET has 4 heads of white. I can switch over two of the heads to varnish and print and coat all inline in one print session. Depending on your lay down order - you could print 4/c, white and varnish all in one fell swoop. I have used my standard cure - hi-heat UV lamps to print to .005...
  12. CET COLOR X-Press FK512 flatbed.. thoughts?

Ohhh... let me see on this. First off - A Rastek is definitely not a Vutek. If you think of Vutek as the Lexus of the wide format world - then the Rastek is the Scion line. Not that they don't have a place in the market - but there really is not much of a comparison to be made. On to CET - I...

  15. Attaching Foamboard

What thickness of foamcore? If half inch - just measure off your space where the print will go and stick about 4 or 5 of the plastic push pin thumbtacks into the wall inside your hanging area and then center up your print and gently press down onto the top of the tacks and they will sit...

  19. wrap design critique....

Try to remember that the truck will be sitting still more than it will be moving, so don't worry too much about what you can decifer at 70 mph, but it should be easier to read the text and make out the URL as stated several times.
