  1. OLD wrap removal

The hood isn't worth it for the cost of a replacement, the sides shouldl be easier. Still the cost of the removal is going to be painful.
  2. Exacto Blades Not Sharp Anymore

We have tried other brands but found Xacto #11 to work best for us.
  3. Applying vinyl lettering to latex painted walls

There are latex paints that work with vinyl, just have to be sure the painting contractor (or you)choose correctly. Or you can use oil based. And of course you can also wrap the whole column and skip paint altogether. If you go that way maybe you can upsell the design.
  4. Need Help Solution Needed for Bus Signage

I think the customer should put a little more thought into their identity. Is the issue that they have large commercial graphics which wouldn't be appropriate for high end private charters? Is it just a few of the vehicles that are used for the private charters? Around here some of these...
  5. putting edge or molding on aluminum composite

Yea, we gave up on that stuff, had same problems with failures mentioned, plus the colors turned to caca in short order.
  6. Looking for a supplier of .080 brown reflective alum

You can try Hall Signs, not sure if they offer brown reflective, but if its a good size order they might do custom. Hall Signs | Custom Signs, Sign Materials & Hardware
  7. putting edge or molding on aluminum composite

We use an aluminum channel ( from Outwater Plastics I think). It can be left as is, painted or covered with vinyl. Attache with lexel similar and a couple screws on each side, just to be sure.
  8. Christmas Gift for Sign Companies Question

I hate it when I don't notice that it's a zombie thread till I get to my response from 8 years ago... still it's a good thread to resurrect at this time. I like the clock idea.
  9. Helpful Tips On Installing Cast Letter On Rock Wall

I agree, just use studs. It takes patience. I like to use an epoxy when working with rock. You may want to bring some tape and spacers to hold it in place till the epoxy sets up. I have even set up a string level to line up the faces.
  10. Need Help Flat cut acrylic installation 6mm thick

  11. Need Help Flat cut acrylic installation 6mm thick

Oops I didn't notice the pic showing the sloppy job you did using the method I described and I also didn't notice what eagle eyed Marlene did, the shadow on the front of the letter. You used the wrong white, it should be opaque. At this point you can either redo the job or cover the faces with...
  12. Need Help Flat cut acrylic installation 6mm thick

I agree with vince, use studs and blocks. Hard to believe a country as big as yours doesn't have access to pre made acrylic blocks & adhesive, most of it comes from over your way. But you can make your own with scrap pieces of acrylic. One way is to cut blacks of acrylic and flush mount flat...
  13. What material - interior signage?

Not quite sure what you're asking. Are you asking "What is the best substrate for a full coverage interior print to be mounted to a block wall?"? If so it kinda depends on the use, short term high end retail, permanent corporate identity, parking garage directionals...etc But some materials to...
  14. Suggestions How much should I pay an employee?

I don't know, but with his skill set and depending on his personal circumstances he could easily leave tomorrow and start his own shop. So the idea of getting him vested in the business is a good idea.
  15. Price check on Isle #4

Depends on whether I am designing something or if it's an existing design. If it's strictly print and cut then maybe .60, if design/approval is involved $1 might not be enough.
  16. Need a good outdoor sign backing material

You don't say how big, but since it's a mailbox I would think you could get a piece of 1/2" "plastic" trim board at Home Depot that would work.
  17. Trump Construction Signs...

Here I just quoted these specs0 3/4" MDO, enamel painted face with matte black back, white vinyl lettering, one two color logo. That's what they asked for, that's what I quoted. If the details are less specific I use a print, but they still say 3/4" MDO. Unless the company requesting the bid is...
