i have the same set up as you. When i do a large contour cuts i dont put the cut right on the edge of the image, i either put it further away or a bit into the image, or just dont do something that large. Also slowing the cutter down between 20 and 40 helps. Make sure you dont have crap like...
Yes maintenance isnt cheap on these things. Blew a tire out on the corner ove a curb pulling into a customers driveway, that was about $130. I had a hydraulic fitting start leaking due to rust, It was a $30 fix, but that shot up to around $300 once I decided to have 2 hoses, another fitting...
Just because a laminator eats prints once in a while doesnt mean its crap. My used GBC used to eat prints all the time if it was over 5 feet long. Then I mastered loading the thing and it has never eaten any prints since. I did a full wrap on a 28 foot bus and not once did it eat any of the...
Getting a bucket truck will pay for itself, especially if you rent it out to anybody that needs it for something. Like I said get into a local auto action and get a used verizon truck cheap. If you could get one as cheap as I did it will pay for itself fast, and you could sell it for twice what...
I cant really answer that, since out of the 3 laminators I have ever used, they were all cold laminators. two were royal sovereign, and my current one is a old GBC Titan that i pick up used for just under a grand. (I believe it used to have heat assist but no longer works)
you probably have dust or hair stuck on or around your print head. once enough ink has built up on a piece while its printing.... DRIP, right on your print.
Im hearing that these UStech ones are pretty popular on this forum and have a great low price. If my current laminator were to break, I would buy a new US tech.
Find somebody that has access to car auctions and get a bucket truck cheap. I got my old verizon 97 bucket truck for only $3500. (half the price i have seen them selling for on craigslist for the same year/make/model)
I rent out my truck for $100 first hour, $50 each additional hour, 1 hour minimum.
Let us know how it went.
