I would double check the seating of the long print head cables as well as the short printhead cables (with machine powered off and unplugged of course). Or you might have a short in one of those. Otherwise the head has possibly reached the end of it's life.

I second to check the LONG print head ribbon cable. The one that runs in the ink chain back to the head driver board. Seen it where a cyan printhead would only stay open on a certain point on the platen. Like you mentioned with the having to basepoint at 21" mark. That probably points to the...

And also figuring out what popped that fuse. They don't go out on there own typically. Sounds like you could have possibly dripped ink on top of the head changing the damper? That is a common cause.

Its definitely the .eps margin. Make sure you change it in the Queue A settings. It will not affect the job that is already in your queue. you will need to reload that job in and it will aply the extra margin. That will fix you. Jeremy

Is that a 6 mil GF product by any chance? Had same issue, was vinyl. And only on certain solid colors.

If you have a VP540, i don't think you will have that option in the menu. With that printer Roland started making the machine do it automatically everytime it reads the media width. Jeremy

Definitely electrical. He said he can draw from the caps with a syringe so sounds like they are sealed fine. Possibly print carriage board or main board.

Looks like you definitely need to replace that head. Lot of deflection in the black. From the looks of the test print i'd say this is an SP series. Since that's the case, youre in luck (kinda) because the black/cyan share a head on this machine. Jeremy

Rushworks, on your machine it performs an enviornmental match everytime it sets up or reads the media width. On the older machines if you wanted it done you had to go into the menu and perform the ENV MATCH from there. bhewlin - might check the linkage from the lever that lowers or engages...

Most definitely a network/router issue. Might try by bypassing the router and going straight to the computer using a X-over cable and confirm it prints fine without pausing, then you'll know there might be an issue with the network or router itself. Jeremy

If you can get in service mode, you should be able to go to ink set and choose max 4. Hit enter, then reboot in user mode, should take care of it. It's probably set to unknown in service mode.

Go to the edit menu and Queue settings. Set the profile you want to print the swatches in there first (same as setting your default basically). Because when you bring the swatch in, you can not change it in the job settings, its based on the what you have set as your default profile and speed...
