  1. VP540 - Contour Cut Head Depth

As of this morning, my cutter does not drop the blade enough to even touch the vinyl. I thought maybe the electromagnet was getting too weak to counter the spring, so I upped the downforce... to no avail. The service menu does not seem to have any blade travel adjustments. Any direction /...
  2. I'm in a bind! 54" down - Need outsource

I'm down to my 30" printer until my new mainboard shows up for my VP540... I have 2x prints @ 36" x 84" that i really do not want to piece in those extra 6" and they need done within the next few days. Anyone that'd be willing to print/lam/ship this as an outsource would be a life saver...
  3. Media feet disaster

So my SP540 was printing away happily, when i heard the dreaded mid-print beeping from the other room. Ran in, and somehow one of the media feet that clip on next to the pinch rollers had come off, jammed into the frame of the print head carriage, wedging it solid against the cutter strip/heat...
  4. Customer Layout Drawings

We've all received something like this. If you have one you can safely share... post it! Always fun to see the final product too.
  5. New caps worse than old

Decided to go through and replace all the caps, dampers, wipers, scraper, sponges, etc in my Roland. The old caps still sealed just fine, they were just getting old. The new caps went in without a hitch, i ran some cleaning fluid through them to prime them for the flood of ink to come, and...

  9. Pump noise?

I have never worked with any other Roland than my own... and the tech didnt seem to mind the sound, so maybe it's normal. Does your pump click super loud when it's running? Mine on my sp300v has already been changed for the newer style, but it's insanely loud.
  10. Cleaning solution when using ElevenTen inks ?

Due to a VERY unfortunate mishap... i no longer have any cleaning solution. Of course, now that i dont have a jug of it, I REALLY need some. Since ElevenTen is defunct... not sure where to go. Anyone have any idea what I should use? Will any solvent cleaning fluid do the job? Also, if...
  11. Protip

If you get solvent ink on your skin, use Purell hand sanitizer to clean it off. It's active ingredient is alcohol, so i worked really well for me when soap and water did nothing.
  12. A proposterous conundrum

The first few inches of cyan print has black in it... then as it prints, it slowly goes back to 100% cyan. I changed the dampers and captop thinking i had a bad damper, and was getting backflow of black ink into the cyan side of the head... Still doing it... So i dumped cleaning fluid in...
  13. Looking to outsource some 24x24" Coro prints

I tried calling a few merchant members... but it's late, so maybe someone's trolling the forums :) I have a customer that wants direct to coro printing (i already tried to get them to just let me print on vinyl then apply). 24"x24" 4mm white coro, 4 different designs 3 of each Full...
  14. Contour cut calibration

Here's my rant: :) If i print / cut from Versaworks... i have to change my Print/Cut calibration or it offsets the contour cut. BUT... if i print/cut from Flexi... i have to put the calibration back to 0,0 and it cuts flawlessly. I know some are thinking "so use flexi?!" To be...
  15. Wow!

:omg2: Holy %*!t this ElevenTen ink SMELLS. Im going to invite friends over to watch Cirque du Soleil while jobs are running.
  16. SP300V - Installing media profiles

For some reason, no matter what Oracal profile i try to get versaworks to load, it says it contains a profile that uses ink that is not currently installed. I am using Eco-Sol MAX inks... chose that profile from the Oracal website... even tried "OEM" profiles... same thing. I made my own...
  17. Just had it serviced! Now what!

Just had Roland out a month ago to replace the black print head, caps, wipers, etc on my SP300V, and already have a nozzle not firing, and another that's deflecting pretty bad. My local dealer isnt so local and they hate answering the phone.. anyone know if there's a warranty on printheads...
  18. SP300V - Black leaving trailouts on solid lines

Just had a new head installed by a Roland tech... and it's ran fine for a month... now out of the blue im getting trailouts on any black line i print. Looks as if every 10 nozzles or so keep firing for a split second too long as it makes a pass, leaving little fine lines trailing out of any...
  19. SP300V Color issue

My SP300v is dumping WAY too much black. All other colors are fine. I'm using Orajet 3640G and the profile for it from their website. All the other colors are great, but the black... it almost POOLS it on there. Any ideas? (ripping and printing from Flexi 8.5, profile downloaded to...
  20. Hello from Iowa

Hello from Central Iowa! I've worked for a major publishing company for years maintaining their digital print equipment. Recently invested in my own Roland SP300V to replace my old crappy ebay plotter (served it's purpose.) I do flash based web design, and logo design freelance, and am...
