Only just thought of it & Im not at work but I will work on & save a new file with an unusual name to see if I can track it on the C drive, all out art files are saved on a NAS Raid external system so there should be no copies on the system hard drive.

A few years back we had a PC that was filling up & after having a look Flexi was saving copies of every file to the hard drive. Back then it was easy to find the file & delete the contents, I have another computer that is rapidly filling up fast but this time with XP its hard to find any...

We still have the problem, we now compensate with the artwork (pre bow) so it cuts closer.....hoping that the next model does not have the same issues when we upgrade :-/

I am fed up with the OCE / colorspan 70/70 & have a opurtunity to trade up to a refuburshed GT250, I would like a 350 but its twice the cost...... My question is do you think suport for this printer will be reduced such is the the case for the 70/70, getting parts is harder & we are more or less...

Yeah worked perfectly with the solvent inks but not with the HP:banghead: & yeah you are right.... just one extra thing to muck up

90 deg C We have almost eliminated the problem now by removing the sacrificial paper from under the stock being laminated.:smile:

What about Hexis in France..... their air release cast vinyl is as good as it gets :-0

We just used a backlit vinyl ICC profile (more ink deposit) @ 10 pass / bi directional to speed things up but in theory you could even go to 4 pass as it would be hard to see any difference but yeah as mentioned above ..... the heat is the biggest factor, we found 85 deg was slimy but 90 deg...

As an option for Aluminium self adhesive we overmanate clear vinyl on the surface then print & cut...... works better than printing on the polyester coating.

Yeah we were the same a few years back with solvent printing banner stock problems with head strike & SAV with imperfections / joins in full rolls etc JC we are yet to sample the HP products but from what I have seen they are more expensive & I hate to be pigeon holed to using their stock...

Sorry for the late reply, thanks all for the comments & info, we are using a cheap laminator so its cold laminating with just 2 rollers ..... stock is fed directly into the rollers under no tension. I have another supplier that has tried my printed vinyl & had the same result, he is using a $30K...

I have to ask, what profile are you using for the Cast Avery vinyl? & what Temps for dry & cure?

Yeah as stated other prints are fine its just the HP ones ..... laminator is a few years old & works perfectly until it is fed latex prints.
