"Over at so and so's" is what I have heard a few times before. The second time I politely asked the customer if he could make out what "so and so" was designing. Two days later, same thing. I know times are tough, but WTF? I haven't raised my prices do to the tough economy.

20 amp will do if the start up amperage is 9 amps. You still have another 7 amps to use on that circuit, legally.

Nothing, very little power consumption at best. On or Off, when lightning strikes, it will still smoke your equipment if there is no surge protector involved. If you unplug the equipment, then you will have protection as well.
