  1. How long does it take you to letter a truck?

I'd be at an hour and fifteen minutes, maybe an hour and a half at the very most, including prep time.
  2. Metallic Decals

We use our Mimaki CJV series eco-solvent printer to print on metallic vinyl on a semi-regular basis. Orafol 970 silver lake metallic and 3M 2080 gloss white aluminum work very well and produce similar results. We laminate with standard gloss laminate. We also print on Griff metalized polyester...
  3. IJ175 vs. IJ180

    Who said anything about Alupanel?
  4. IJ175 vs. IJ180

Yeah, the 3M product bulletin does state that IJ175's removability characteristics aren't all that. I'm really going to have to think this over. We can get IJ180 in 25 yard rolls, if and when Fellers has it back in stock, so it may come down to carrying both options and using IJ175 strictly for...
  5. IJ175 vs. IJ180

We produce a lot of outdoor signs and some print and cut vehicle decals, but not wraps. We want to move away from Orajet 3951RA and move into 3M IJ175 or IJ180. This material will be used for mostly (70-80% of the time) long-term outdoor signage, such as aluminum panels. The IJ175 comes in...
  6. Preferred wall wrap vinyl.

Is nobody using Photo-Tex for these applications anymore? We have a wall wrap job coming up and we were planning on using Photo-Tex over traditional vinyl media. Can vinyl products like IJ-40 be removed and repositioned? That's the main thing that is leading us to use Photo-Tex. In theory, it...
  7. Looking for pole banner supplier.

Thanks for the replies. We've reached out to Firesprint since we've worked with them many times in the past.
  8. Looking for pole banner supplier.

We're looking for a wholesale trade printer that does two-sided pole banners with full-bleed images. We currently use Signs365 and while they can do white or solid colors on the pockets, they cannot do full-bleed graphics. Can anyone refer us to a company that can print them with full-bleed...
  9. Need adhesive ideas for foam PVC

Yeah, that will probably work, I just wanted it to sit flush against the fixture and not leave a gap, but we actually do have some thinner VHB tape that is closer to 1/32" thick. I'm probably overthinking it and will go with the VHB as long as it will still slide in behind that stainless piece.
  10. Need adhesive ideas for foam PVC

This had occured to me, but I wasn't sure if foam PVC would melt, unlike rigid PVC pipe. I may have to try it, though.
  11. Need adhesive ideas for foam PVC

I have a customer that is looking to have us replace some foam PVC signage for a motel that they are in the process of fixing up. The Motel 6 sign is 1/8" PVC mounted onto a solid, flat surface, which is the fixture that you can see a portion of in the photo. It appears the original Motel 6 sign...
  12. Material Shortage?

3M 7125 Scotchcal. I'm not a fan, but it is what it is. The finish isn't nearly as glossy as Oracal.
  13. Material Shortage?

We switched from Orajet 3951RA 30" rolls over to 3751RA 30" rolls but everything else media-wise has been available, at least in limited quantities. Cut vinyl seems to be the real obstacle. Some colors are just impossible to find. Even Oracal 751 black was out of stock everywhere about a month...
  14. Help with font

I'm not sure if this is an outline font, or if the outline was added but I'm striking out left and right trying to identify it. Does anyone know what this font might be? Thanks for any help.
  15. Oh, I really went and did it now! In serious need of help or suggestions.

I won't. I'm gonna try a few of the suggestions and see if they work, but inevitably it's looking more and more like we will be replacing them and hopefully I don't mess their new wall up when I go to cut these off with fishing line. Ugh! Yeah, I'm not gonna try adding vinyl for all of the...
  16. Oh, I really went and did it now! In serious need of help or suggestions.

Thanks so much for this suggestion. I'm pretty sure we have some of this at home that I can try out. It's also good to find someone else who's had this same thing happen so that I know it's not an isolated issue. I just hope it works well enough, but I am definitely trying this. Thanks! Thanks...
  17. Oh, I really went and did it now! In serious need of help or suggestions.

Exactly, they will not cover it, which is another great reason to never do this again. I used RTape 4075RLA.
  18. Oh, I really went and did it now! In serious need of help or suggestions.

The thing is, the problem only occurred where there was air between the tape and the GemLeaf surface. In other words, the problem is only where there were bubbles or wrinkles present in the tape. Any surface where the tape was completely bonded across the surface of the Gem Leaf is just fine...
  19. Oh, I really went and did it now! In serious need of help or suggestions.

I forgot to mention, I tried adhesive remover and alcohol to clean them and it didn't do a thing.
  20. Oh, I really went and did it now! In serious need of help or suggestions.

I did a Gemini GemLeaf installation for a local CPA in early 2018. This month they moved into a new office which has all been newly remodeled. After weighing whether or nor removal and relocation was possible, I worked up a quote and away I went removing the old letters with plans to relocate...
