  1. Ink pumping tips?

Also I havent replaced cap tops yet because they didnt get here in time, figured id just changed them afterwards. Could that have something to do with it if they wont seal tight enough against the print head? I tried sucking directly on the part of the damper that connects to the print head...
  2. Ink pumping tips?

Roland VP-540. Replaced 2 heads (black and blue) and did the pump up because i changed dampers. Did the ink fill and couldnt get any ink to flow through the lines. Got the yellow and magenta to pull through the dampers and into the head through the pump tubes below. Seems like I can get the...
  3. Vp-540 head issue

you guys got any tips for pumping ink up? Replaced heads and dampers on blue/black but cant get the ink to pump up.
  4. Vp-540 head issue

Thank you for the response. I have new dampers/captops/wipers on the way. I will change those things out and look over the head while I'm replacing the black head. Anything in particular I should look out for that would make the head unrecoverable?
  5. Vp-540 head issue

Obviously the black print head needs replaced, but whats up with the cyan? Fixable or should i replace it to?
  6. PS (jpeg) white is printing off white

I appreciate those trying to help, I'm not a sign shop and don't claim to be on a professional sign shop level. I'm just a guy that bought a used printer and likes to wrap my own racecars and some others which most of y'all wouldn't touch because there's no money to be made....with that said I...
  7. PS (jpeg) white is printing off white

Here's a reference to what I'm talking about. Both files were saved out of photoshop, eps on the right with pdf on the left. Notice the offwhite box on the right with the eps where it is printing instead of just staying true white.
  8. PS (jpeg) white is printing off white

Versaworks won't open a PNG, TIFF gives the same results (printing off white) as the jpeg out of photoshop. Seems as though the only (versaworks friendly) option out of photoshop that doesnt mess with the white is a pdf but I don't like the print quality with it. Was hoping it might have been...
  9. PS (jpeg) white is printing off white

Not sure if this is the best place for this question or not. I recently switched from CS2 to CS5 awhile back (I know I'm still way behind) and my jpegs from photshop have started printing off white where it's supposed to just remain white. If i open a jpeg in Illustrator and save as an eps...
  10. Pinchroll Error - Lower Pinchroll

I've got it back up and running (for the most part.) Just have to fine tune a few things like getting my sheet cut arm to drop and cut. Also, does anyone know how to get the display back to reading inches/Fahrenheit instead of mm/Celsius?
  11. Pinchroll Error - Lower Pinchroll

Took battery out of main board with main power unplugged for a few minutes and that fixed it. Must've had pinch rollers down at the beginning when I was going through everything is the only thing I can think of.
  12. Pinchroll Error - Lower Pinchroll

Yes, gives me the same error whether they are up or down unfortunately.
  13. Pinchroll Error - Lower Pinchroll

Long story short, I cant seem to get a tech in my area to replace a main board on my VP-540 for less than $1500 (and a month out at that) so I'm stuck trying to play tech. Couldnt get the Peck tool to read parameters on my old main board so I've been going through the process the hard way...
  14. VP-540 main board

My VP-540 has been getting progressively worse about "losing connection" after starting a print. Typically it only happens within the first 5-10" of a print but occasionally happens further in to a print. Once I get it printing past that it will typically print fine until I run out of prints...
  15. Files opening larger than what they are?

I suppose it could be a photoshop issue, I did "upgrade" from cs2 to cs5. I will hunt around and photoshop and see if anything in there is wierd. Thanks for the suggestions so far!
  16. Files opening larger than what they are?

Hey all, I've had to reinstall windows and all my software and having a problem opening jpg files in Flexi8.1 now. The files are opening to a larger physical size than what they are supposed to. For example if I save a jpg in photoshop thats 20.5"wide at 150 pixels/inch and try top open it in...
  17. Cartridge recycling?

I have about a dozen empty 440 roland eco sol max cartridges, is there any place that recycles or offers any kind of trade in on them? Or am I better off dumping them? Thanks.
  18. Connecting via CAT5 crossover cable (VP-540)

Ahh, thankyou so much for asking that. I went stupid and forgot to re-setup the IP/gateway since it was recognizing that connection as a different local area connection. Thankyou for making me double check that!
  19. Takeup reel moving to fast?

I'm using a second hand EnduraLam/US Tech laminator. I've went through several rolls of lamination now so I think I have a decent hang of how the machine works, however I keep having an issue of the take-up reel for the lam backing taking up the backing too quickly. The problem occurs after...
  20. Connecting via CAT5 crossover cable (VP-540)

Hey guys, I recently purchased a crossover cable because I kept getting the "now processing" error during printing on occasion. Had it originally connecting and running wired in through a router but decided to try crossover after reading suggestions here. I hooked it up (belkin cat5...
