  1. Laminate on decal sticking to plastic packaging

When you re-read your post, what does it make you think? The condescension and superiority is palpable. Sorry for my low brow behavior, it took me off guard and I'm in a good mood. I would suggest trying to find humor in the small things. It will make life much more enjoyable Bob. Have a...
  2. Laminate on decal sticking to plastic packaging

Well I'm glad I got the quote in. Good humor should be shared. My wife got a kick out of that one too.
  3. Laminate on decal sticking to plastic packaging

HAHAHAHA, I haven't had a belly laugh like that in a while! Seriously, thank you for that. Also, thank you for the suggestion. I am planning on taking theirs to a packaging company to see if they can enlighten me. Holy sh**, I am still laughing...
  4. Laminate on decal sticking to plastic packaging

I thought of that as well, and it may be, but the only thing that is really perplexing me is the fact that it is leaving a mark on my decals where the plastic was stuck. Makes me think it could only be moisture, but the bag is wide open and unsealed. I'm hoping someone knows if a certain type or...
  5. Laminate on decal sticking to plastic packaging

Our stickers are put in a thin poly bag before going into the retail packaging. I just visited one of the sites where our product is sold and I noticed that in many of the packages the bag was sticking to the face of the stickers. When I pull the bag away from the stickers it comes off very...
  6. Head scratcher weeding issue?

I think you're right. With all settings being identical the only thing that seemed to make the difference was removing and resetting the blade. I'll put in some oil as well. Thanks for the tips all!
  7. Head scratcher weeding issue?

Sorry for the delay in responding. To answer a couple of questions - the stickers are an oval shape about 1"x2", so not all that small relatively. The biggest issue I have is it is sp sporadic and unpredictable. The day after I posted I pulled the blade out to make sure the ball bearings were...
  8. Head scratcher weeding issue?

I produce small stickers. After a couple years I have ironed out most bugs, but weeding continues to be unpredictable and painfully frustrating. For a few months - no issues, then it all of the sudden starts weeding horrible. I use a 3m vinyl with Avery 1460 lam with a d60 summa plotter. I have...
  9. Thinnest, Most Conformable Over-Laminate?

Yeah, I use 3M for my print vinyl, so I can attest to that... I came across that one and since I use 3M print it may be a good option. BTW, does it really matter if I combine different manufacturers, or is it just a way for them to force their customers to stick with them for print and lam? I...
  10. Thinnest, Most Conformable Over-Laminate?

That's what I forgot to mention - not only is my application complex, but it is also a highly abrasive environment. I've never tried the liquid, but even the vinyl laminate takes a beating, so I'm assuming it probably won't work. I do appreciate the suggestion though as this would be ideal as...
  11. Thinnest, Most Conformable Over-Laminate?

I have a very complex project that requires the highest amount of conformability during application. I have been using Avery 1460 and it is working well overall. I have been doing some research to see what else is available, but there are a ton of options to sift through. I was hoping someone...
  12. Would an S2 T series plotter solve my issues?

I have a D75 I've been using for about 6 months. Generally it has done a good job, but my work is very specific, so I can't change my work to compensate for some issues/possible limitations I've had with the D75. I'm wondering if the S2 model along with tangential will resolve these. Issues...
  13. Avery 1360 micro bubbles

I have a sticker product I create and insert in a die cut package with a window showing the stickers through it. I just encountered the most bizarre issue. When I have a bunch of them packaged and sitting on top of each other and I pull out the stickers on the bottom most packages they have tiny...
  14. Laminate pockmarks?

I recently changed to Avery 1360 laminate and have been very pleased with it so far. All my tests have been done using the big squeegee and the results have been fantastic compared to my Arlon 3220 experience. I just did a huge print and ran it for the first time through my laminator (USTech...
  15. Weeding after laminating issue

Although it pains me to get on and admit my stupidity I definitely don't want to affect anyone's perception of a product's quality or lead anyone astray who might read this in the future. After reading Behrmon's question I started questioning whether or not my samples I had been using had been...
  16. Weeding after laminating issue

Yep, exact same result. Before I got my laminator I tried the Big Squeegee and applied with my entire body weight trying to get rid of the silvering. Although it made it better it would take 3 days before it was sellable. Same result on the weeding.
  17. Weeding after laminating issue

Thanks for this, I've been very curious what effect blade exposure had as there is little information on what is "correct". Thanks, but I have tried this as well. Same results... Thanks Phil for the thorough response. I have to say I have been very impressed with the customer service from...
  18. Weeding after laminating issue

Good to know. I actually bought some 45 degree blades, but I've been using the one that came with it. I think it is a 36 degree. I'll switch to the 45. I was actually going to ask this question. When I bought the plotter I was told to have it out just enough to feel it on the back of my...
  19. Weeding after laminating issue

The Summa doesn't outgas since it is a thermal process, but it definitely seems my laminate is soft, but I don't think it has anything to do with the print. This is what is perplexing me. Like I mentioned earlier, if I contour the same design in my vinyl pre laminate it weeds beautifully, but...
  20. Weeding after laminating issue

Thanks for everyone's input, it helps a lot. I am using the original blade that I bought the D75 (used) with. I will give this a shot. I am using the US Tech Pro 65S, which I love by the way. Practically no learning curve and setting heat assist at 100 degrees producing no silvering...
