  1. who obtains century 21 logos ?

You can drag and drop svg logos off their rebrand microsite here If you know how or can get someone to check the code for the webpage, you can find RGB values for the colors they use. There are also a few fonts they used you can find this way. The big thing for me is that there are no brand...
  2. Question Double-sided T-bar stake?

I've considered a hanging type stake/frame like this. I like the idea of a T-stake just because it would look cleaner. But the L stake would give a natural spot to put a rider on.
  3. Question Double-sided T-bar stake?

Probably 20 for the first round.
  4. Question Double-sided T-bar stake?

I have a customer who's a realtor for Century 21. They've rebranded to a circular logo, and she's interested in the idea of a circular real estate sign, but she wants it double-sided. It would be something unique in the market that could draw attention. My first thought was to use a t-stake...
  5. Cheap material

I've worked with cheap customers before who expected cheap quality. I didn't mind them so much. They gave us leeway to make the price work, submitted crappy artwork they did in Microsoft Paint that they approved, and didn't complain when their stuff looked like crap. They were nice to do...
  6. Cheap material

Cheap customers pay in full, upfront before I do any work for them. I've also had plenty of annoying customers over the years say "Well I can get them for $X.XX at so-and-so.com" Of course, I go to said website and easily discover that 1) they're lying, or 2) they're quoting a different product...
  7. Hanging a banner from a car for a parade?

I wonder if a set of these would work for holding it on the car. Probably wouldn't be able to sell the customer on the idea. But in theory, you could mount the removable 3M hooks to the car, and would just need to buy some more strips to reapply to the back of the hooks when you're changing...
  8. removing large vinyl from raw aluminum trailer

So I take it the daughter wasn't supposed to be removing the graphics? Maybe a case of "I'll be helpful and wash the truck....Oops!"?
  9. Local Competition LOLs

That's a good way to get arrested, I think. Ya know, this little minor thing called theft. That's at least a Class A misdemeanor in Texas, and possibly a felony, depending on how you calculate the value of the sign.
  10. Invoicing software?

I use the same as I don't need anything more complicated. And it's free for the level I'm using it.
  11. 20th Anniversary Logo

It looks like their logo has been the same for 20 years. Wow! It'd be great if they'd actually bring it into the new millennium while they're celebrating their milestone. I think I saw that graphic on the school computers in elementary school...
  12. Opening a sign shop

I would push back on the non-compete for some compensation. If you truly are that valuable to the business, they either need to compensate you adequately (and thus make it worth your while to sign a non-compete) or deal with the fact that you could leave because they're not actually valuing you...
  13. Need Help What a FAIL. Glass door all scretched up. Anything to fix it?

In the glass installs I've done, we never had specific text in the quote/contract/invoice about this. We just cleaned the area necessary to apply the vinyl and moved on. Never had complaints about us not cleaning the rest of the window. But I could always tell who never cleaned their windows...
  14. Question Custom yard sign frames

I've got a realtor who's looking for some custom angle-iron frames. When I lived in Dallas, I had a supplier up there who could do custom work, but I've forgot what their name was and I'd prefer someone more local if possible. Anyone know a company in the Austin TX area that can handle this?
  15. Anyone?

And what exactly is your question?
  16. Just In Lowe's is now competing with signs

"Here's how to violate copyright law in a few easy steps! But who cares about copyright as long as there's no trademark or watermark on it?"
  17. Need Help Printing Design with Many Hi-Res Photos

How large is the file? I regularly print 48x72 prints from raster images saved at 300 dpi. Some are up to 2 GB. Takes forever to load and rip in VW, but it does it. Also, does it have to be saved at 300 dpi? The only reason I print those large files are b/c anything lower isn't good enough for...
  18. Banner Scam?

I got an email like this years ago asking about hundreds of stop signs. Sounded fishy. Didn't have anything better to do so I looked up the price from our vendor, jacked up the price a ridiculous amount and insist on payment up front, figuring either they move along or it's legit and I make an...
  19. Discussion Wondering how many have done..............................

Is that how you got into the sign business? ;)
