  1. Need Help HP Latex 560 - Random Banding

I've had this problem with printing a lot of blue on my 360+370. I think it's an ink starvation issue. Printing gutters, increasing the passes, and increasing the interpass delay seems to help. Like 10+ passes, 500ms delay. It's a very annoying issue that I've only seen happen with heavy cyan...
  2. Keeping it flat

I agree with Gino. If I'm receiving warped foamcore or coroplast, it's going back. Putting the concave side down on the vacuum table helps. Corners, I usually just press down until they lay flat. Depending on the thickness of the material, use masking tape to tape the sides to the table, sort...
  3. Material Help in Canada

Grimco, Sabic, EM Plastics, and ND Graphics. ND is usually our go to.
  4. Reverse install window perf

There is. Look for "in-mount" or "interior" wiindow perf. We've used Windowbrite In-Mount perf a few times and applied adhesive to it. I think we have used a product by Contra Vision as well.
  5. "Unexpected end of job"

Yup! Only a few times though, maybe 5 times in the last couple of years. Annoying, but I haven't had that happen yet this year. I don't know what causes it. I usually get "Onyx is not Responding" far more often. That one really chaps my buns.
  6. 14oz banner crinkling on print?

Looks like a heat issue. It looks like when I have the heat set too high for the material. I have never had ultraflex print worth a darn on my HPs.
  7. Need Help Blue Polystyrene

:popcorn: Have you tried Sabic? They have some east coast locations, I know I got blue sintra from them before. Give them a call?
  8. Ink build up on HP latex 360 printhead?

It looks pretty gooched to me.I would probably replace. I see that from time to time - the ribbon lifts up and begins to tears as it prints. Not sure if it's from physically damage (head crash, head strike) or the ribbon just lifts up over time. I see it mostly on the lc/lm head or Y/M head. Do...
  9. Issues printing on Tekra Jetview with HP570 (Latex) ... any suggestions?

Is it coming through the curing chamber alright? I don't have a 560, and I don't print on that material, but I have had issues with certain materials gripping to the curing chamber on my 360 and 370. I was shipped an accessory that fits in the curing chamber, it is basically a non-stick material...
  10. Color calibration tools.. what do you use?

There is a few different ways to get licenses for Onyx, the split up the license/number of printers kind of weird. We have THRIVE 642: 6 RIPs, 4 printers, 2 Job Editors, 1 layout tool. You can install as many copies of Production Manager as you want. I run 3 computers in various locations. I...
  11. Color calibration tools.. what do you use?

I agree. I do run a additional G7 test when profiling media, mainly to appease the Prepress boss. It's the religion to their offset world. The profiles all hit the ISO 12647, G7 target, but they don't all necessarily print alike. They can be all over the place, at least it seems to me. Then...
  12. Color calibration tools.. what do you use?

We use and i1Display Pro for monitors and a i1iO for the printers, profiling both with the iProfiler software. I've had my monitors profiled and re-profiled many many times and I would never try to Pantone match off of the screen. We have our digital proofs and we also have printed proofs off a...
  13. 3M IJ180 on HP 360

I do have problems when I let the printer feed the IJ180 into the pinch rollers automatically. The vinyl tends to peel back and jam. I prefer to lift the blue lever and feed the IJ180 in manually. And I always feed the material past the curing chamber. Every material. I know it's wasteful but it...
  14. Facebook or Instagram Selfie Cutouts any tips or piks

We usually make them out of 6mm coroplast for a local soccer team. They usually last at least one soccer season (April - October) with weekly use outdoors. I recommend rounding the outside corners, they can be quite sharp. 4mm coroplast might not even survive one use depending on how it is handled.
  15. What is this about?

It might be the encoder, but I'd lean more towards your board being toast. I had something similar happen to one of my magenta heads staying on like that on my flatbed (completely different machine, but it looks similar). It was the board.
  16. Onyx transparency issues

Converting to a .tiff seemed to always work for me when I ran my Epsons through ONYX
  17. cancel job workaround-latex 3xx-5xx

I usually just spam the cancel button so it skips drying and goes to "checking printer". That seems to cut it down to about 2 minutes. It still sucks. The 5 minutes for a nozzle test is the one that really kills me.
  18. Lamination Issues

Swiffers! They are always kept in stock here. The guy who runs the laminator attached the swiffers to an old piece of channel bar with double sided tape. The bar stays in place while laminating and he's free to trim the sides or roll it up without worrying about dust. We did the same thing to...
  19. Encoder Strip Cleaning

I use 50/50 water and 99% iso. Then I use a clean dry cloth to clean any haze/water markings on the encoder strip.
  20. Recommendations for clear permanent vinyl for second surface mounts

Metamark MD5 is our go-to. I have never had a problem with it. It boasts a 7 year outdoor life span, I can't really vouch for that but I haven't seen the vinyl fail yet.
