  1. Contour cutting only the contour not the design within

Thanks a million people for all the help. Seen now the cause of the problem. All fixed now. Yes have the rights to use that logo. It's advertising on their product. They supply and make available for that purpose.
  2. Contour cutting only the contour not the design within

Thanks threeputt and eahicks for your feedback. Both of you have given me some useful suggestions to think about and look into. Yes eahicks I think I have somehow that may have happened.
  3. Contour cutting only the contour not the design within

The question is hard to understand I know. Using Flexi 7.6 with a Gerber edge 2 and GS 15 plus. Making up chassis protectors for remote control off road race cars. In the past I've simply cut clear vinyl double thickness the shape of what i'm covering. Now I want to print the first layer...
  4. Font identification advice

Great Jill. Thanks I can make that work that's very close. Not sure on that car but on other cars the same is in vinyl.
  5. Font identification advice

"racing for Lauren" Just wondering if anyone knows what this font may be. I realise the 'L" has been added in and possibly not a font. Trying to match this as close as possible. I know the photo isn't great. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
  6. Flexi 7.6 vertical offset in cut/plot adding in numbers

Thanks for the reply CiberSupply. Seems like the problem was some how related to the drawings that were sent as AI files originating from Indesign. Seemed to have an effect on Flexisign. Reset the preferances and no other files have the same problem. Anyway managed to output them in the...
  7. Flexi 7.6 vertical offset in cut/plot adding in numbers

Has been working fine up to now but now when I go to cut there is alway a number in vertical offset. When I type in "0" as a vertical offset, the numbers just come back next time it's opened. Usually it's about 50" but can be a random number for various objects. Sometime I can't even change the...
  8. Printing with the gerber edge help

Yes it is ECP so it's a mystery. As said above. When I connect the edge 2 to the port the computer running X Pro wants to install the printer in device manager. (shows as unknown device) Also in device manager it tries to install under disc drives something called IMG VPO.
  9. Printing with the gerber edge help

Thanks for that feedback. That's the only way I can get the edge 2 to print by using the usb to parallel converter. Wondering though if anyone has one working via the computer's parallel port using flexi as shown in the edge 2 user manual. Maybe that only works if using the Omega software as I...
  10. Printing with the gerber edge help

Unrelated but could you tell me what connection are you using between the Edge 2 and the computer. I'm using Flexi 8.1 in XP connected with a parallel to USB cable. At times I get an error on the edge that stops the print starting or stops part the way through the print. I've tried connecting...
  11. Printing colors to the Gerber Edge in reverse order

Thought using the "finisher" may have solved it but it doesn't. If as in this case the design has color traps it places the finisher in between colors and changes the color order back from reversed order to normal. Even without the color trapping it reverts the order from reverse to normal...
  12. Printing colors to the Gerber Edge in reverse order

Further investigations reveal that I've caused this problem by assigning an underbase in the design. Seems like unless dragging to change the color order Flexi wants to print underbase first. So is using the underbase option the wrong thing to do if reverse printing on clear vinyl? (or...
  13. Printing colors to the Gerber Edge in reverse order

Tried this in both Flexisign pro 7.6 and 8.1 with the same result. Just wondering if it's happening to others. In Rip and Print on the advanced tap is driver options. Opening this shows the colors (spot in this case) in the order to be printed. As I'm wanting to print the colors in reverse...
  14. Cutting an open end circle in 7.6v2

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I'll try them all. I was trying to avoid recreating open end circles to use if possible but may have to go that way. Not having "cut page crossings" selected does look like the solution but for me anyway it doesn't seem to make any difference. Still...
  15. Cutting an open end circle in 7.6v2

I can do this in an old version 5 of flexi but not in 7.6. In the past in version 5 I've needed to cut a circle larger than the plotter can do. As it's only larger by a tiny amount I've made up a metal template to hand cut the missing part. That's worked out fine as version 5 leaves...
  16. check foil problem

Robbie I see your in Australia. I'm in Melbourne, and during the hot weather recently my Edge 2 didn't need to warm up at all. The room temperature was already above 25C. Maybe that's why yours wasn't warming up.
  17. Color cast in Gerber Edge CMYK print

How right you were. Many thanks for that advice Turned out fantastic!! Setting the color mode to Greyscale made all the difference. Thanks again Mike.
  18. Color cast in Gerber Edge CMYK print

The image is greyscale but no I haven't tried changing the output color mode. If I simply turn off CMY all it's going to print out is the black bits. Not print out the CMYK bits in black. Thanks for the response Mike. This image is only small for a inside use menu board. Bit of a rush...
  19. Color cast in Gerber Edge CMYK print

Thanks Fred. I did see mapping as I was going through the various options. Don't know how it works but have to look in to it a bit further.
  20. Color cast in Gerber Edge CMYK print

I have a black scanned image in Flexisign that I'm trying to print as a black spot rather than CMYK. What would be the best way to do this. If that's not possible how can I reduce the cyan color cast the the printed image has with CMYK. Reducing the cyan just makes it more magenta...
