  5. A little office remodeling this past weekend....

Actually nobody in the office is lefty....its just a convenient positioning for the cutter to tie into the pair of Mac Pros we have in the front office. Easy for contour cutting and monitoring the progress. Nice and tidy there!
  6. Best 3/16" substrate for flatbed UV and guillotine cutter?

The other option is Ultraboard DP...its paper faced with a rigid core. Not sure how the guillotine will or won't crush the board....but its lightweight and very nice to print on. Nicer than the converd IMO as its a solid core vs fluted or honeycomb. More expensive than standard foam though.
  7. Retractable banner material

Email me and Ill get back to you tomorrow with it. I have some heat and other settings I can share from our 560.
  8. why god does this buckle constantly?

Assuming you already tried turning the platen vacuum up a touch to try to get it down tighter? That in many cases will also cause issues with proper feeding and such....just a thought though.
  9. A little office remodeling this past weekend....

OMG no...we have multiple outlets all around. I Stink at crimping RJ45 connectors so I ran wires with the female plugs for Cat6 through the wall to the router in the hallway. Wireless isn't fast enough for sending large files into the printers. Thats all those are in the lower right for my...
  10. A little office remodeling this past weekend....

After the flooding from Labor day weekend, we FINALLY had a new floor installed this past weekend. What a difference from the worn out carpet my landlords had in there previously. New reception desk and a fun wall mural on the back wall as well. Just overall a nice fresh look for us in the...
  11. Retractable banner material

The Briteline works well on Latex....have to get the ink loads and temps right with the smaller format machines. On our larger ones they print like a dream but UV ink from our Agfa printer does not stick to that brand. The Duratex line from Grimco prints well on our UV but not well on latex...
  12. Buying a new mac mini for caldera

If you need to have the latest Mac OS...a mini should be ok. Might be better off with an iMac Pro. Talk to Ernst at Caldera to see what they recommend for it. We're still running Mac Pro 2012 models and chewing thru files with ease. Only issue with the Mac Pro is that Mojave is the highest...
  13. non-curling banner material

Duratex No curl Poly if they have it available....or Ultraflexx makes a non-curling poly as well. Either of those do not cup on the edges.
  14. Need reliable trade printer (not 4over)

Thanks Everyone...we do our best for for our clients!;)
  15. Double Sided Banners

We do loads of double sided banners. 13 oz or 12 oz blockout is the best way to go...std 13oz bleeds and is not opaque.
  16. Printer for Oracle 3640 jobs

If you're looking for communication and attentive service....come on over to WYLD.
  17. General Formulations...

GF has become a staple in my shop this past year. Pricing is decent and the quality of the print is really nice. Their high tac HTAPAE is very nice according to clients...they've liked the air egress on it for installation. Due to disruptions all over, we found ourselves going to GF more and...
  18. Lifting heavy rolls

LOL>....hey, Im in Linden...not rahway! We use a couple of small moving dollies actually. To get them into position its team lifting...or an ATV-Motorcycle jack for the really heavy bastages!
  19. HELP! Window Perf hates HP LATEX

The small format printers...560 or similar...just hate perf. Continental & ContraVision are the best I have used for the smaller machines. Ultraflexx perf worked ok as well. We typically run our perf on UV or Large 1500s due to the issues with heat and drying.
  20. Long Term Wall Graphics Material Recommendations

Recommendation would be 3m IJ40 Controltak with a matte CAST laminate or a phototex or similar.
