  1. WYLD GFI...minor flooding but back up and running.

Haven't been on here a while but figured I would put a post out. Last week we were hit by the remnants of Ida here in NJ. Our shop partially flooded with 6-7 inches of water. All the roll substrates we had were compromised as well as 2 of my large latex printers. Colex table is still down until...
  2. Position Opening - Prepress & RIP Operator

WYLD GFI has a position opening in Linden NJ for the right candidate. MUST have excellent abilities in Illustrator & Photoshop on Mac OS as well as RIP Software. We utilize Caldera for our operations here. Knowledge of HP Latex printers is a strong plus as well. You will be interacting with...
  3. Need Help BEST plotter for Contour Cutting Reflective Material??

Hey... have you had issues with the Graphtec 8600, using the ARMS sensor on Reflective SAV w/ Glossy lamination? Ours seems to skew either just the X coordinate, or sometimes both the X and the Y coordinate, thereby giving us a wacky, sometimes unusable kiss-cut most of the time.
  4. Graphtec FC-8600-130 contour cutting issues

We use Cutting Master sometimes... and have had issues with accurate REFLECTIVE registration. I want to know how thick are you making your registration marks?
  5. Cast Arlon Vinyl Prints

    Of course!
  6. Cast Arlon Vinyl Prints

I wouldn't worry to much about it then. Go with whatever cast you have available to you if that's the route. Otherwise, IJ35 or Avery 2923 with a good lam for flat surfaces is always a great choice.
  7. Cast Arlon Vinyl Prints

Arlon wrap vinyl needs to be post heated once applied. We are not installers so unsure of what it entails...but Glantz as a vendor recommends this as well. We supply our clients with Avery, Briteline Wrapcast or 3m sometimes.
  8. Suggestions Overlaminate

Depends on the type of graphic and level of experience you have. If its a large graphic or simply shaped/rectangular, probably don't need it...just use a soft edged squeegee and should be good to go.
  9. A good story about perceived value...

I love this discussion! dpd.2174 You have your Amen!
  10. Force Majeure: Yet another Corrugated Plastic Increase (Coroplast)

We've been holding the line so to speak here as well. I raised the price of aluminum signs a little bit this year...thats it. The Coroplast and everything else, we were able to get before any major increases hit so we're steady.
  11. Need Help I'm not understanding this......................................... ??

If its vector, you should be able to limit all vector data to K only. Usually a button in the rip for that.
  12. Need Help I'm not understanding this......................................... ??

Whats the image look like? Sometimes it converts it without you wanting it too..... Did you limit within the Rip?
  13. Flatbed Cutters - Cutting Mats

We have 2 mats for our colex....one for routing and one for knife and other cutting. We'll use both sides up on either mat, it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference if you are careful with your depth of routing and such. You would notice areas that do not cut nicely if you use the...
  14. 3M Materials Shortage

We have used 1105 EZRS recently on latex and its been fine for us with printability and install. I cannot speak to Eco Solvent or such.
  15. Pole Banner Finishing

The ink interferes with the weld....latex or solvent not as much as UV. Heat does not get thru the UV inks and provides minimal adhesion. For security sake we always stitch our pockets. I dont trust the welding for a pole banner. My client doesn't need a banner coming down on someones...
  16. Applying Vinyl Graphics to vehicles w/Ceramic Coating on Paint

That ceramic coating has been out there for boats now for a couple years and taking hold everywhere. The explanation I received on it is..."think of it as a long lasting wax coating" which for us is bad news. Like everyone else above said, it has to be mechanically removed.
  17. Question 3M Cast vinyl shortage?!?!

We're still waiting on 3m cast stock here as well.....Avery has been our alternative for most jobs without an issue, but some clients specifically request 3m for their jobs. Not fun.
  18. Need Help Colors don't match between panel in the same rip.

We have the large latex 1500s and don't get this issue of the color shifts. All of our tiling is done within Caldera....quite easy to do with correct overlaps and such. No need to rotate tiles. I keep reading about the smaller latex machines going south on the color and shifting from panel to...
  19. Need Help Vinyl on carpet

The GF is made for low pile...high pile would be at clients own risk. We are very clear on this.
  20. Need Help Graphtec contour cutting length

Our rip sets up Multiple marks on the length....searches them out every 30-50 inches or so. keeps things aligned for a long print & cut!
