Even on our Latex machines matte vinyl has a sheen of some sort on all matte vinyls. If we truly need a dead flat, we laminate either with marabu for banners and such or film for any other roll stocks.

We have scored them plenty of times without an issue. Clients were quite happy with the results.

Optically clear may NOT have UV inhibitors in them. Jester is correct in saying the yellow tint is the inhibitor.

What is the primary purpose of the laminate? Simply to provide UV or as an anti-graffiti shield coating??? We use Briteline UV lam all the time on our agfa. but our UV inks run thin in comparison to others. Our AGL Laminator runs at 120° or thereabouts and we get little to no silvering and such.

how long is the run you are trying to do? if under 8 ft...use a drop sheet of 2 or 3mm pvc as a carrier.

Another option is to get sacrificial paper from your vendor....brown kraft paper. That is not as slick....that may work better.
