  1. Zund / Oce Procut VS Summa flatbed cnc

While I agree, I have to say, the Summa is no slouch, we've had one for about 5 months now and it has really helped ease a bottleneck in our production
  2. Is the Aeon Mira 9 a good laser?

ProColorGraphics has one of these i think..
  3. install sign post in concrete or asphalt

If its only a few to be installed in concrete, look into the bold down bases, way less expensive then renting a core drill or hiring a company. For asphalt if you have a sleeve pounder it should go through it relatively easily. But if you have a bunch, do yourself a favour and rent a gas...
  4. Fletcher Substrate Cutter

We had the keen cut one, keep an eye on it, mine liked to constantly go out of square. It won't cut rowmark either, but you can score it and snap it.
  5. install sign post in concrete or asphalt

Core drill a hole with a 4 inch bit, install the post then put concrete in the hole.
  6. Plastic source for engraving and laser

I've only ever owned trotecs, they are the best of the best in this market, however epilog isn't far behind these days. I would keep an eye out for a second hand trotec.
  7. Plastic source for engraving and laser

We've had 3 vision engravers over the years, they are complete workhorses. Would they accept these as laser engraved? Way less of a learning curve and the machine has a ton of other uses around the shop.
  8. Plastic source for engraving and laser

Yes those were done (poorly) on a rotary engraver
  9. STUPID F*&$@** CORPORATE BRANDING DESIGNERS

I always think of graphic designer vs production designer this way. A graphic designer is someone who can bring the clients ideas to life, and the production designer is the one who has to bring them back down to earth and figure out how to actually make the product. Much like the architect...

  11. We have a vaccine

What on earth are you on and where can I get some? 14. Laser cutting vinyl?

When lasers cut PVC based products like SAV it releases chlorine gas, which is not only extremely bad to breathe in, it also corrodes the aluminum inside the laser machine, not we have used our laser cutter to cut very small amounts of vinyl for certain applications, but I wouldn't do it...
  15. Free files - Make your own printed Pantone book

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but why are we as an industry still using Pantone as the gold standard? Very few if any of us are buying spot colour inks, 99% of us use digital printers that require quite a bit of work to hit most of the pantone colors. Even traditional print shops are...
  16. Summa Gosign

I believe it has to do with the camera. The machine comes with a 9 ft cable and an 18 inch extension cable for some unknown reason, when the extension is used the camera can't communicate with goproduce to do print/cut. Even using a 15 ft USB cable or powered hub is no use.
  17. Summa Gosign

Don't hold your breath, our F1612 is only USB, and the cable can't exceed 9 feet...
  18. Summa Gosign

Looks pretty much the same as goproduce for their flatbed cutters, should be a nice add on for a roll cutter.
  19. Cash N Carry vs Install

Robert Armerding Why is your client set on written instructions? they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so a youtube video is worth at least a million. If your written instructions are more than a few bullet points I can guarantee a novice installer won't read them, but let them watch...
