  1. Printing speed TrueVIS VF2-640 64" Eco-Solvent Printer

I've owned a vg640 as well as a pro 4 and the truvis machine is WAY faster, I still don't like them since we had 3 lemon ones, but they were fairly quick. If speed is your concern, you need to get a separate plotter, when the printer is cutting its not printing.
  2. Suggestions buggy or trolley to carry tools and material

How many rolls of vinyl are we talking? I've considered getting a Dewalt tool backpack for installs to free up my hands, add a milk crate onto the front of my utility cart to carry rolls of vinyl and I may have the ugliest/most practical solution!
  3. Printing speed TrueVIS VF2-640 64" Eco-Solvent Printer

Take a look at the Epson S60600, you get super fast speeds and a way better quality print than the Roland can make!
  4. Suggestions buggy or trolley to carry tools and material

If you find something let me know, we do a lot of work in hospitals and are always hauling tools & prints/ADA signs and it can be quite a walk from the truck to the job site some times. We currently use one of these: https://www.uline.ca/BL_1864/Uline-Utility-Cart-with-Pneumatic-Wheels but by...
  5. Do you think a Vanguard needs an air scrubber?

Pat, if you have a hydroponic shop near you, look into a charcoal filter setup for a grow op, similar idea, much much less expensive!
  6. Looking for CHEAP printable vinyl

One thing to keep in mind, one supplier here offers $99 /roll media, however the colour varies from roll to roll, one roll is bright white, the next has a blue tint to it, if that is a concern I would stick with the arlon and see if you can work out a discount with your vendor on the media you...
  7. Funky colors from CAD type programs.

CAD programs are horrible at creating production ready graphics, from breaking curves into 1000 tiny segments, to solid colour fills that come in as a weird bitmap/vector mashup, to shapes that as not closed its a nightmare. "But it looks fine on my screen, must be your software"
  8. Anyone had heads replaced on a S80600?

I was wondering that myself, gotta be careful, if you use up your forgiven claim on a $2000 print head then when you actually need to real claim your rates will go through the roof!
  9. Scam?

Having their own name as the sent to isn;t uncommon when sending out a single email to a mass of recipients such as an RFQ or similar where the actual recipients are all bcc on the email. ut the message would have me deleting it right away.
  10. Turn around time..

I bet when he left you let out a huge sigh as well!
  11. Need Help Dry Erease laminate wrinkles over time

I had this happen when prints are rolled up after laminating, I had about 50 feet of prints to laminate with dry erase, when I took them off the take up roll on our laminator they were all garbage. My supplier got a very angry phone call from me that day! I switched to a dry erase laminate...
  12. Rant Customer wants to see $1M proof of insurance for $48 banner

You've obviously never been involved in a personal injury lawsuit. We are going through one now for a sign we didn't install that someone slipped on when it fell and got covered in snow. The prosecution lawyers will name every single person who had anything to do with the job, property owner...
  13. Need Help Web site domains

What domain name is costing $1000?!? we have 5 or 6 top level domains, the most expensive one is $12 a year
  14. How to handle previous owner's mistakes

Consider yourself lucky it's not a full wrap! If it's just the horse graphic it shouldn;t take much to redo it. I would explain to them that you were not the owner at the time and you are under no responsibility to fix this, however you understand their frustration and want to make it right...
  15. What if Covid vaccine required a subscriber fee?

The point of vaccination is to protect you, as well as protecting others who are not vaccinated for whatever reason. Most vaccines effectively stop you from being able to spread the virus to vulnerable people, now we don't know if this is the case with these new vaccines, but I will be trusting...
  16. Roll of labels

Yes if they are applying the labels with a machine my process doesn't work well, but most people buying roll labels 1000 pcs at a time are not using a machine. I've considered a small label printer in the past, but for the 1-2 small jobs a week we do of this type, my epson s80600 and summa...
  17. Question Insurance payout after fire

We were with State Farm at the time (now Desjardins) our agent is a client of ours so 8ve never really comparison shopped. I will say, when we had our fire the adjustor was great, 2 days after the fire we had a cheque for $80,000 to get us up and running and cover deposits on machines etc.
  18. Question Insurance payout after fire

We had a fire that actually destroyed our entire shop. The adjustors are pretty easy to deal with, they are really not looking to make life difficult, they just need something that they can show their boss that says the printer needs to be replaced. Call a dealer, tell them what happened, tell...
  19. Bidding on Projects

Yes that is my concern, with an extremely loose spec of what they want, some shop is going to put in a lowball quote that just meets the minimum.
