normally for something like that i would use 3M IJ180Cv3, that's what we stock for wraps and long term printed vehicle or sign graphics.
if you are printing the logo just print/lam/cut the whole job and supply in one piece for install
i will say for just cut vinyl i use both 651 and 751...
definitely need to use polyester for the high temps unless the location of the label doesn't get hot then vinyl should be fine.
if the customer is using this for their own personal use probably doesn't matter but if this is for a contractor there may be specifications required for a label on the...
i have used velcro for step and repeat banners with no issue. wrap the banner over the top cross pole of the frame and attach it to itself with the velcro. but like already mentioned it depends on the use and size of the banner
weeding cut lettering at small sizes just sucks no big magical way to get it done. it's just labor plain and simple.
we generally try not to do anything smaller than .5" high but have done on some occasions .375" and even .25".
if it's a small qty i will cut and then put application tape on it...
have had issues in NYC also. had one job i showed up with my insurance cert and they required some other stupid liability things, the building manager wouldn't let me do the job. the job was installing some 3" x 10" logos on the glass doors and wall outside the elevators for safety so people...
job can vary based on the colors and how they are laid out but generally i will install on site.
we do a lot of nbc vehicles and i made a template out of removable vinyl to lay the feathers of the peacock out correctly
i use AirMask 510U, works pretty good on air release liners
Product Details
Medium tack clear application tape that is a unique film premask with an affinity for air-release liners
This product has been designed for cold laminator applications eliminating the need for heated nip rollers or heat...
can someone give me a little background info on banner welders?
how do they work?
can you use them on fabric banners?
going to an auction next week and that is one of the available items but really don't know if it would be useful or not due to a lack of knowledge?
looking on line and found...
some of the customers are clueless. i think what drives me nuts anymore is the deadlines. we do a lot of work for different events. everything from bat mitzvahs to the NBA all-star game and all of these events they know about months in advance but we are getting the job and art like a week...
never had any luck with any of the vinyl off type products. always just heat (torch or heat gun) and elbow grease then adhesive remover for the glue.
or i use the vinyl zapper vinyl remover wheel
we have multiple venders we use this way we always have a back up plus certain venders don't carry all the materials we use (don't put all your eggs in one basket)
we use fellers, N. Glantz, tyrrell tech, nazdar, harbor sales and S & F. overall they are all good but between the 6 suppliers we...
you need to find someone with a good knowledge of illustrator and photoshop then teach them the sign business.
i went to school for graphic and commercial art and they touched lightly (very lightly) on signage. truth of the matter that was so long ago i don't even use anything i went to school...
this is the closest i could find.
from the sign bracket store. don't think it's two frames welded together, if it is then they did a great welding job.
if it needs to be the exact frame good luck with that
i would UV print on pvc. could also look at metal photo process on metal, aluminum
if you were to use reflective would that be hard to read with a flashlight shining on it?
i have done some reflective signs and when the headlights hit them you can't read the damn sign
might be time to hire an assistant. that would definitely help lighten the load and lighten the stress. even if it's just someone who can answer phones and or deal with walk ins. take info down and then you can get back to them later. that would give you time to get physical work done and not...
