  1. Cleaning bottom rollers on s2

Absolutely for the rubber roller, but for the metal grit rollers (which I assume he's talking about by referring to the "lower" roller) brushes won't cause any damage.
  2. printed holographic material

Holographic comes in two breeds, PVC and polyester. PVC and PVC coated can be printed on solvent/ ecosol machines, for UV printers you can use either, not sure which you would need for latex. Schein has a large selection of holographic media, I think Sign Warehouse carries the brand. I rarely...
  3. Need Help Blade force on very thick overlaminate

I don't run a graphtec, but they're all the same. A 60 degree blade is more for std vinyls. Sometimes they'll work in a pinch for heavy stuff, but it's not really meant for it. The 45 degree blades are for slightly heavier material, and the 30 degree blades are for thicker stuff like reflective...
  4. Need Help Blade force on very thick overlaminate

That you'll have to experiment with, there's no "one pressure works on every machine". Do test cuts, increase pressure till it weeds easy, clean, and you can just see a line where the blade hits the backer. With thick media or lam, slow it down too, cutting too fast will just cause jamming...
  5. Cleaning bottom rollers on s2

You can get cleaning brushes from any hardware store, cheapest at Harbor Freight. They look like toothbrushes, but stiffer, come in nylon, brass and stainless bristles. They work great for grit rollers & such, if they're too gunked up for the nylon one, you just step up to the brass one. I use...
  6. Our most valued employee has passed.

I agree. I learned throughout my life how much more faithful, loyal, and trustworthy pets can be compared to people. I'm on wife #5, four did deal breakers, never had a pet commit a single one.
  7. Our most valued employee has passed.

I'm at that point too... If I get another I know I'll out-live it, my wife is younger, but would have a hard time taking care of one by herself with all her medical issues. Plus she never wants to go through this again either.
  8. Our most valued employee has passed.

Thanks everyone. He was waaayyyy above the pay grade of a reprobate like me. Got him when he was six weeks old from a friend, he was the runt of the litter no one wanted, so she just gave him to us. Within a couple of months, I was in bed one night, wife was up (she has MS and often can't...
  9. Our most valued employee has passed.

After years of retirement, my best buddy "Ozzy" didn't like me leaving every day again, so he went to the shop with me almost every day. He was quiet, kind, gentle, even had a girlfriend there (owners have a miniature schnauzer that they started bringing in too). He put in as many hours as I...
  10. Customer wanting to use trademarked logo on their signage

Dealerships have the authority to use branding for lines they sell. If anything is corporate related, just make sure you use the proper logo, like if it carries the actual "GM" logo in addition to to any others, they updated that in 2021. Make sure you use corporate colors, don't manipulate...
  11. UPS Strike

If you think about how much total value is sitting on every UPS truck, train, plane, ship, in distribution and transfer hubs... How much of it is time sensitive, perishable... I'd think shutting it all down for a strike would be financial suicide for them. How many long term large customers that...
  12. Ford Explorer Door Handle HELP!

Be careful not to lose any more nuts! Take your time, be patient and they'll go back on.
  13. Crack and Peel adhesive vinyl

Depending on how many you're doing, you can use an OLFA TS-1 top sheet cutter. I do some safety rating labels for a customer that makes roll cages for heavy equipment and wants them slit, I use this, It's cheap and it works pretty good. All you're doing is a single slit across the liner. Slit...
  14. Ford Explorer Door Handle HELP!

I had faith in you... The worst part of wraps are the really heavy compound curves like bumpers, partials like that are a good way to get your feet wet. You might have lost a little on this one, but now you know you can do it. :toasting:
  15. Ford Explorer Door Handle HELP!

I missed it too, or I might have been able to help... :(
  16. what kind of material to use for translucent stickers? Customers does not want the black background. I have a mutoh vj 1324

Do you (or they) have a vector of this so you can remove the background? If not, you might have to re-draw it.
  17. Does all 3M have markings on the backing paper?

I notice differences in the same vinyl's. We go through quite a bit of IJ40C, and select rolls from recent batches have a much stronger adhesive smell compared to other batches. Like standing over an open bucket of glue. I'm sure that there are variations like that, and more, from every batch...
  18. Contour cutting

Make sure the rollers and grit rollers are clean. Slowing it down helps too. When you're working with heavy material, just like mashing the gas on your car from a stop, wheels can spin on these too.
